Three Cheese Manicotti

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
This recipe was a huge hit in my house. I only partially cooked the pasta (less than al dente) to make them easier to stuff, and I also filled my giant pastry bag with the cheese filling to squeeze it easilly & neatly in to the shells. I jazzed up my canned pasta sauce with fresh garlic & onions. Such an amazing recipe, my kids devoured it! An excellant meal served with garlic bread & caesar salad.

Mom's Good Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
I've always made cinnamon rolls using my grandmother's recipe which consisted of a sweetened flaky pastry dough. I decided I wanted to try a yeast-risen dough, and came upon this recipe. It is WONDERFUL! Like many other posters, once the dough had risen the first time, I rolled it out in to a sheet about 1/4" thick and lightly buttered the dough. I never measure how much brown sugar & cinnamon I use, I just liberally sprinkle the dough until it looks right. then roll it up (I also sprinkled walnuts before rolling) and slice through with a sharp knife. I got 12 beautiful large rolls + 2 end pieces from this recipe. If you tuck 6 rolls tightly in to an 8x8 square pan, when they rise the second time, they rise together to a beautiful presentation. I also sprinkled a bit more brown sugar on the tops before baking. Wonderful recipe! Thank you for sharing!

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Absolutely the easiest truffles I have ever made, and so simple to add different flavour variations. I made a simple chocolate/vanilla and drizzled white chocolate over top, a peppermint variation - rolled in crushed candycanes, and a almond variation rolled in walnuts. A HUGE hit with my family & friends, I will make this recipe every year at Christmas :) Thanks so much!!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
Fantastic cookies! I make these every year in the fall - usually just after Hallowe'en when I have plenty of pumpkins that need new homes! A favorite with my kids especially because of the cakey texture and sweet glaze.

Boston Cream Sponge Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
A great sponge cake recipe! As another user noted, there is no rising agent . . . it's sponge cake, there isn't supposed to be a rising agent. It's a rich, heavy cake. It's not supposed to rise. Great recipe! A huge hit with the hubby!

Au Gratin Potatoes II

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2003
I absolutely love the flavour of this recipes - it's a wonderful cheesy potatoey flavour. However, the dish took a LOT longer to cook than the recipe said. I think next time I'll use a 9X13 pan instead of an 8X8 one. Fabulous though - absolutely loved it once it was finally done cooking.

My husband called from work and said that he was craving a chocolate cake. I found this recipe and whipped it up in a very short time. The house smelled great while it was cooking and when the hubby got home, well - the cake never had a chance. Between him and my brother, the pan dissappeared on the same evening that I amde it . . . great chocolately recipe!! fabulous for that chocolate lovers craving!! I iced it with a chocolate butter icing . . . Mmmmmm delicious!

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2001
No wonder this is called " ... Angel Food Dessert"! It was HEAVENLY!! The only problem I had was that the strawberry topping was kinda runny and didn't hang on to the base. I think that's my fault though because I used frozen/thawed strawberries - it's next to impossible to find fresh strawberries this time of year. I will definately make this one again!

Husband's Delight

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2001
Coming from a farm family, I was expecting those great homecooked hearty meals that Mom always sends out to the field during harvest, I was a little dissappointed that this was not one of those recipes. It was okay though - I fed a roomfull of hungry roomates, but we all found it to be a bit bland. I think if I make it again, I would add taco seasoning or salsa or something to the beef to spice it up a bit. I also fried the onions up before adding them to the cheese mixture. Other than that, it was okay.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2001
I've been making this recipe for 7 yrs now! An awesome shortcut - layer the chicken, sauce, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese (in that order) in a 9X13 pan and bake it as a casserole - makes it very juicy and yummy and just GREAT!! LOVE IT!!
