Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2012
I did not care for this recipe. The mixture of flavors did not appeal to me. My husband at it, but did not really like it.

Spaghetti Squash I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
This was my first time making something with spaghetti squash. The squash itself was ok, but I don't think it went very well with the feta and olives...and I LOVE feta and olives.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Excellent Recipe. I only made the half the recipe because I only had 1 pound of ground beef, but next time I will probably make the whole recipe and freeze a pie. I left out the tomatoes and added taco seasoning to the ground beef. I also, as suggested, spread the refried beans along the bottom of the tortillas. I was also out of olives, but will add next time.

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

The bacon didn't stay on, but added great flavor to the burger. I broiled - 7 minutes on each side

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Taste was fine, although I didn't want to open a bottle of wine, so it probably would have been better. I couldn't get the chicken to stay rolled, one of the breasts was undercooked, even though I checked the other. It was a little hard to tell if the center was done, since it was rolled up. It was a little bit of a disaster and I will not make again soon

Butternut Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
This tasted more like a dessert than a side dish! I didn't even use the topping, it was good enough as is. I also used about 3/4 cup of sugar, it was definitely sweet enough.

Spinach Feta Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
I briefly sauteed the mushrooms in garlic and olive oil. I used two cloves of garlic and my husband complained it was too garlicy. I didn't add the additional garlic and garlic salt to the pizza, just what was in the mushroom mix. I also didn't measure any of the toppings. I used a thin crust boboli. I thought it was delicious.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Changes - my husband didn't want it too spicy - only 3 cans of beans, no celery, 2 T chili powder, no hot sauce, 1/2 t cayenne, used 3 pieces of chopped bacon. I put 3/4 c of beer, but next time I would do 1/2 c because the chili was overall a little soupy. It could be because I used the food processor to chop the onions and peppers and that turned out a little watery.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Excellent! I made exactly as written, with the advice given in the comments to mix everything in the same pan that I melted the butter. I baked for 20 minutes and it was done. I may try 19 next time, as the edges were a little crisp. My 2 and 4 year old loved it and so did my husband. It is rare to find anything that everyone in the family enjoys!

Barbequed Ribs

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Not worth the effort. I wasn't a huge fan of the combo of spices in the rub. Also, I might have used the wrong type of chili sauce, but the original result was so spicy that it overpowered everything. I spent an hour trying anything I could to reduce the spice, using any technique google could teach me. It still ended up too spicy...and my husband and I both like spicy food. He could barely eat it, and he eats everything. I will not make this recipe as is again. It needs a lot of tweaking

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Soooo good! I didn't make with a bread machine, I kneaded by hand. I also don't like nuts in my cinnamon rolls, but otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. I baked for 17 minutes and the insides were a little bit doughy (although some people mentioned that they liked them doughy). Next time I will try baking for 18 minutes and see what happens

Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
I could eat the whole 6 servings! I didn't add as much milk b/c it would have been too runny. I add the butter first, then the syrup, and add milk until it is the right consistency.

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2010
Excellent. Will make again. I used olive oil instead of sesame, added a clove of garlic, and made extra sauce to use as a dipping sauce. I forgot to lower the oven temp to 350 and the extra sauce in the pan burned to a crisp, but the pork still tasted good....i didn't realize until the smoke alarm went off after 30 minutes. It is a good thing it went off, or the pork would have been overcooked
