Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
i just drizzled some olive oil and tossed the cauli in a bowl. garlic tends to stick to plastic bags so i just sprinkled it on top of the cauliflowers before popping it in the oven. the only disappointing part was i didn't make enough for my family! i didn't expect them all to go for the cauliflowers! (we're carnivores hahaha) thx for the delicious recipe

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
these were amazing! i never thought it'd be that easy to make! i minced the onions and layered it as some reviewers suggested. i did cut down on the cooking time buy slicing the potatoes thinner & i microwaved it so it becomes half cooked. do rmbr to cover w/ aluminum foil to keep the heat w/n WARNING: it gets quite greesy but hey it's comfort food w/ cheeese can't escape it! for the last few minutes i did broil the top so it browns on the side & crispy on top! i will make this recipe on every special occasion possible! or when i crave comfort food =)

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
i omitted butter and the deep frying part. i followed one of the advice of just drizzling some oil on top of the wings and popped it in the oven to broil. once it was crispy enough i started to baste the wings every so often & boy did it make a lot of smoke! but the aroma filled the kitchen & my family couldn't wait to get a taste of the wings! crispiest wings i've ever made w/o deep frying! will definitely make this once a week! better than having 30cents a wing night!

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
made this a while back and I can still recall the taste of these roasted potatoes.. they had a tangy sweet taste that was quite interesting. the dry mustard and honey added a kick to the flavours.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
I baked it @ 375 like other reviewers said. Fresh parsley is a MUST and I did reduce the amount of butter by half. I basted the chicken about 4-5 times and broiled it for the last few minutes. It turned out juicy (i think the amount of garlic could be reduced. i'd make this recipe every other week if my family doesn't get sick of this dish! =D

Honey-Ginger Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: May 5, 2010
Salmon was moist and juicy, baked it instead of grilled but still the result was pleasant a nice sweet flavor but the ginger flavor was lost in the sweetness, I recommend more ginger be added.

Blender Hollandaise Sauce

Reviewed: May 1, 2010
my first time making hollandaise sauce and never thought it would be this simple! I did cut the the butter a bit and like other reviewers said the sauce wasn't hot enough so i gave it a 4. The sauce wasn't thick enough so i'll probably try the double boiler method next time.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
i just made this for dinner because there were salmon trimmings in our fridge. i made 9 smaller cakes instead 4 there were easier to handle and cook. i didn't have cheddar cheese so i just subbed parmesan and it still turned out great! i made a mayo sauce for it as well to give it more flavour. will definitely make it again!

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
I cut the chicken breasts into cubes so they cook faster. I only had dry tarragon in hand and I didn't have enough for the sauce to have the flavour stand out and the dijon was overpowering the rest. Next time I will marinate it in dark soy sauce so the chicken will have some colour. I found the dish to be too pale =P But I will make this dish again
