Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
First of all it was very bland and so I had to add this and that just to make it palatable. I added more liquid in the form of another can of diced tomatoes, also added chicken broth because this receipe was like a casserole instead of soup. I added cumin, corriander, cilantro, more salt and pepper and more chile powder. I added a little sugar as well. In the end.....it was much better than the original recipe but not worth making again. Basically I think I did everything in order to get rid of the Pureed pumpkin. Regular chile is much better than this.

Insalata Caprese II

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
I used a mozzarella cheese that was rolled in red pepper and sundried tomatoes currently sold at Wegman's grocery stores. It was much more flavorful than using plain mozzarella. I also used fresh basil rolled and chopped and then sprinkled a dash or so of balsamic vineger along with the olive oil. After salt and peppering the alternatly sliced tomatoes and cheese I would let it marinate and soak up the flavors for full effect. My husband loves this recipe and its so easy.

Black Russian Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2003
This recipe was an instant hit with my quilting group. They all wanted the recipe. My friend adds 1 cup of mini chocolate chips to the batter for a little more chocolate flavor. I have also made this cake using vanilla pudding instead of the chocolate pudding and its still to die for!

Greek Salad I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2003
I just made this salad and it was great!. My husband and I loved it. But.....I did change a few things. First of all I did use all of the Olive Oil plus I added 3 T. of Red Wine Vinegar, garlic powder and 3T of sugar. Once I added the sugar that was La Difference! Viva! It made all the difference in the world. The dressing was so good that you could have lapped up the remaining dressing in the bottom of the bowel with some warm buttered French or Italian Bread and made a meal on that alone! Try it with the sugar. Its sensational.

Pasta Shells Florentine

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2001
There is a prominant taste of "sage" that seems to take over the recipe. The overall taste is very bland and it tastes like a typical "lowfat" recipe.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2000
I made this recipe for my family using Delmonte's "Traditional" flavor spahetti sauce in a 26.5 oz. can. I also added a tablespoon of minced garlic and just a wee bit of salt and pepper to the meat as I browned it. Also added a dab or two of Worchestershire sauce to the meat as it was browning. The results were fabulous. The whole family loved it and I have since passed the recipe to two friends who have made it and loved it. This one is a definate keeper. It taste even better warmed up the next day. Thanks to the author for sharing this recipe. Suzy Alexander
