Roasted Vegetables

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2003
This is excellent. If you are using dried spices, make sure you reduce the amount and it will turn out great! We used russet potatoes and yellow peppers (out of red) and it was still great. For my family, this would feed about 5 people as a side-dish. Yum, yum.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2003
This is seriously the best bread that has come out of my bread machine. It melts in your mouth, and although it smelled too strong, the taste is just perfect. I almost added extra flour as it looked too doughy while kneading, but I'm glad I did'nt. It was perfect! Thanks, Jo.

Chicago Style Stuffed Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2003
This was an excellent recipe. We are sauce lovers, so I added some store bought pizza sauce. I also used an extra large pie plate, but there was too much dough. A pizza pan will be added to my Christmas list!

Best Wild Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2002
Maybe you need to have walnut oil--I just used canola. I though the recipe lacked pizazz and won't make it again.

Chicken Biscuit Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2002
MMMMM-mmm. Wow. My husband would've eaten the whole thing if he could've. The biscuits made the dish, I wouldn't use store bought ones. We had to use canned peas and cook fresh carrots. I wouldn't change a thing! We will eat this quite often.

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2002
I guess you have to be a choco-holic to like this one. My husband and I thought it was too much and too rich. I'd rather use my trifle bowl for colorful fruit desserts.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2002
Wow-this certainly stands up to the 300+ 5 star reviews! I used half molasses, half honey and added some chile powder. The taste was impeccable, but it didn't caramelize possibly due to the molasses. Even though I was forced to use molasses this time as I had run out of honey, I still think I would use it the next time for a richer taste and color, but still sweet flavor.

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2002
I was pleasantly surprised at this soup. A full, hearty flavor to it. I will definitely make this every year when asparagus is in season. My husband even liked it, although he still asked where the meat and potatoes were!

Pork Chops to Live For

This truly is the best pork chops we've ever had. It must have been the onion. I used one can cr of mshrm, one of crm of chicken. Next time I will add a little less milk.

Lemon Chicken Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2002
Really good. A new kind of chicken soup, without the noodles and veggies! It was a little more refreshing than traditional chicken soup, plus lemon is a good source of vitamins when fighting colds. I will definitely make again. I did add onion and bouillon.

Garlic Top Sirloin Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2002
Mmmm. Delicious. I was skeptical about adding the green pepper, but my husband and I thought they made the meal! The only change I'll make next time is cutting back on the salt and/or use low sodium beef bouillon.

Black Bean And Corn Salad II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2002
Deee lish! Except watch if your black beans are salted or not. If they are salted, make sure you don't add another whole teaspoon. Plus, I found that 1/3 cup oil was enough. Try adding cumin and oregano, too!

Sour Cream Noodle Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2002
This recipe was my husband's kind of thing, not mine. He gave it 4 *'s, I only 2. If we make it in the future, we will half the recipe so I don't have to eat any : ) But again, my husband really liked it.

Asparagus, Chicken and Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2002
My husband really loved this. I used cayenne pepper. Next time, I would only use about 10 ounces of pasta and maybe even more asparagus. It doesn't eat as well being left over, so make sure you don't make too much. We will make this recipe year after year!

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2002
Mmmm. Great! I used wheat germ instead of bread crumbs and garlic powder instead of onion powder; the meatballs were still great. I was very glad I halved the orzo as everyone had suggested. Will add this one to my recipe box!

Cottage Noodles and Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2002
I must have missed the boat on this recipe cuz neither my husband or I liked it. We added kielbasa as someone had suggested, and that turned out to be the only ingredient which we appreciated. We really didn't thing pasta and cabbage mixed very well. I'll stick to my other cabbage recipes.

Meat Filled Manicotti

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2002
This was really good, although I changed it a bit. I added one package frozen spinach and accidentally put all of the cheese in the hamburger mixture. Plus, I added more seasonings including parsley, oregano and Italian seasoning and two whole eggs. I will make it this way again in the future, as it has enough veggies for me (spinach) yet enough meat for my husband.

Zesty Marinated Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2002
This is wonderful! A new way to eat bland old cauliflower. I had reduced the oil to 1/2 cup and next time will reduce all the way to 1/3 cup. I measured out 2 cups of cauliflower, but next time I'll just throw an entire head in. There would still be plenty of marinade. Will definitely make again.
