About this Cook
One of my fondest memories as a child was my Grandma's kitchen... homemade noodles for her chicken and noodle soup, rhubarb pie, chocolate cake, and other delicious recipes. I hope one day that my own children will have fond memories of time in the kitchen, this is why I enjoy cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Baking has become a joy to me. My husband and children often get excited about what will be served next! We eat Mexican dishes quite often, as well as pasta dishes, soups, stews, and casseroles.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year in December I bake a lot of goodies for neighbors and friends. My three kids help me with different parts of it; either packaging, delivering, or helping in the kitchen. It's something we all look forward to, including those that receive the treats!
My cooking triumphs
When I started transforming recipes into my own recipes I was pretty excited.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili
I made this for a Super Bowl party along with a more traditional chili. My husband and all of the other "real men" loved this chili and kept going back for more.

Jim's Macaroni Salad
Instead of cheese slices I added cheese cubes that were cut in half. This was delicious!

Self-Filled Cupcakes I
I used vanilla icing instead of cream cheese or chocolate. I thought the other two might be too rich and sweet. The vanilla icing added just the right touch. I also followed the advice of filling the cupcake liners 1/4 full with cake batter, then 1 tablespoon of filling, then topping off with more cake batter. I baked them for 20 minutes and they turned out perfect!
