Banana and Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
An OK smoothie, I left out the cinnamon. Added a a couple spoonfulls vanilla yogurt to "smooth" it out a little more. Made it again and added some kiwi nom nom... I think that the bananas need to be very ripe, no green on the peel and not so ripe that it is mushy. A less ripe banana will have a different consistency. As for the food coloring??? If you are serving to a child, they may enjoy the appearence of a darker pink drink - happy smoothie making ;)

Peanut Butter, Mayonnaise, and Lettuce Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
hmmm....okay then... surprisingly good. Unusual but good. My daughter who is 4 liked it and she added some sliced pickles. Not as amazing as the other reviews but when the pantry is empty it'll be part of my menu.

Nauvoo Gingerbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
WOW a delicious tasting cookie! I used an electric mixer to blend the sugar, lard, molasses, eggs and water in very large bowl. I added the flour mixture 1 cup at a time to make mixing less messy and easier. I did judge doneness by looking at the center of the cookie. My kids loved these compared to the really crunchy, spicier cookies. My mom enjoyed them too and she's NEVER eaten my gingerbread before. They will make great gifts and a great tradition at Christmas - Thanks for posting this recipe they are amazing with hot cocoa or a little rum and eggnog!! nom, nom, nom...

Pork Chops German Style

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2010
Fast and easy to prepare. My kids loved this recipe. I found it very greasy however; perhaps the next time I make this I will top the chops with wild rice and use a low sodium chicken broth - I think that the mustard is salty enough - don't need the extra salt in the soup.

Better than Sex Cake IV

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
WOW!! wow, wow, this is absolutely a must have in any mothers recipe box. Delicious. Wouldn't change a thing. I may attempt to substitute pineapples for mandarin oranges or maraschino cherries. This'll be a birthday tradition for sure!

Scott's Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash Mashers

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2010
Wow!! loved this healthy recipe and even better, my 3 year old and 1 year old loved it too. I didn't make any changes to the recipe. However, I boiled the potatoes and sliced the squash into easier more manageable pieces for skinning. Once cooled, I peeled the squash. Adds a little more time to prep, but saves the fingers while peeling skin off raw butternut squash. Will be a part of weekly meals for sure !!! Thankss for the great recipe.

Open-Faced Broiled Roast Beef Sandwich

Excellent taste - sauerkraut is the key~ I made this recipe though with a large garlic loaf browned as usual rather than just bread. Mmmm.....

Skinny Fries

I love fries and these are great! I have also done these with sweet potatoes seasoned with paprika and garlic powder. A light mayo curry dip compliments the sweet potatoes well. I will make these fries from now on.

Banana Spice Cookies

A yummy cakey cookie. My kids loved these-especially my 10 month old little girl. Halfway through baking, I put them in lightly greased mini-muffin tins-this worked well to.
