About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Mmmmm....How 'bout everything! I'd have to say anything Italian and Steaks on the BBQ.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mainly during the holidays. I love to get together with my mom and make fruitcake. Oh, and candy cane cookies were a tradition. I am looking forward to teaching my daughters how to cook and bake. My eldest is already showing a big interest grocery shopping and in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Cheese Canneloni!! Spinich, Riccotta and all, everyone loved it and wanted more. Even those who despise the spinich.
My cooking tragedies
Banana bread that I made while entertaining some children after school. It turned into a little football.lol. A little tip. If you are cooking and there will be kids with grabby fingers, prep the ingredients before you start mixing. Otherwise you may forget that special little ingredient like B.Powder.

Salad Dressing Chocolate Cake
My mom has been making this cake since I was a little girl. My favorite chocolate cake for sure.

Banana and Strawberry Smoothie
An OK smoothie, I left out the cinnamon. Added a a couple spoonfulls vanilla yogurt to "smooth" it out a little more. Made it again and added some kiwi nom nom... I think that the bananas need to be very ripe, no green on the peel and not so ripe that it is mushy. A less ripe banana will have a different consistency. As for the food coloring??? If you are serving to a child, they may enjoy the appearence of a darker pink drink - happy smoothie making ;)
