I am a 45 year old married male with 2 sons. I have professionally created food for many establishments for the past 25 years. I find cooking to be a great stress reliever. I constantly strive to impress my family and friends with my creations. Although, I no longer cook professionally, It is my second nature. I find great satisfaction with the compliments that I recieve when I bring my talents to the table.
My favorite things to cook
My wife is a cassorole person. I was never impressed with the standard recipes. However over time, I became a cassarole fan. When cooking for a family of 4, I sometimes find this a easy and quick way to feed the family, while keeping everyone happy.
Being from South Dakota, my favorite things to cook is anything involving a good piece of meat. I love to smoke, rostisse, etc meats. I have often catered to parties that request my pork loin or prime rib. My side dishes are my second choice to prepare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is a great cook as well. She makes the best comfort foods and soups. She has always cooked the old fashion way (maybe not the healthiest). She has provided me with the base recipies to improve upon. Please don't tell her.
My cooking triumphs
I received great feedback when I was 16 years old and had to cook over 50 steaks for the Mid-West Cattleman's Association. Each of these steaks were of different type and degree of doneness. The presented me with a $50 tip and praise for the accuracy of their order.
My cooking tragedies
In preparing my family's Thanksgiving dinner, the glass cooking dish that the turkey was cooking in, Shattered! Leaving glass shards everywhere! Needless to say, I could not serve that turkey that day. I compromised and cooked whole chickens instead. My family and I will never forget that day.
