Mediterranean Puff Pastry Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
Sun-dried tomatoes overpowered the other flavors, could be because I used some in oil instead of actually dry. Also my puff pastry sheets were too small when I cut it so I had to roll them out some. And when I cooked them, there was a lot of liquid in the pan so the bottoms were kinda soggy/slimy. Next time I double the feta, halve the SDT and put the whole thing on a rack to keep it out of the liquid. And may use full sheets instead of half sheets.

Dad's Steak Rub

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
I did not care for this on steak. I used it on sirloin and it was just wrong. However, it's really good on chicken and pork so I gave it a 3 instead of a 1.

Krissy's Best Ever Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
The sugars burned and tasted funny. Was also very crumbly. Only cooked for 20 minutes so maybe only 15 minutes.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
Sauce was very thin and didn't stick to the pasta, even with less sauce than it called for. Flavor was only so-so. I did use less onion and pepper to accommodate my family so I upped the garlic and added some basil. Didn't matter. Chicken turned out slightly stringy and dry. Really not my favorite texture. Will not have again unless I can figure out how to make it better.

Juicy Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2011
I thought it was amazing. Used A1 not 57, but don't think that made a difference. My wife thought the rosemary was too strong, but she's insane and hates rosemary so I don't listen to her. The smell the steaks made when they hit the grill was awesome. I used extra root beer so I'm not sure how much that impacted the end result.

Chicken fell apart and didn't seem to have much flavor.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
A little dry, needed more cottage cheese we think. Got a little overcooked around the edges, though I blame that on my ginormous Crockpot as much as anything. It seems to get extra hot for some reason.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
I've tried this recipe in 2 different slow cookers and the white meat always gets really dry. And that was with a 4 lbs bird. I can't imagine smaller bird surviving the cooking process.

Turkey Potato Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
Only the potatoes on the top cooked through, and I used a mandolin to get them very thin. Broccoli was still crunchy. Cheese in the middle didn't melt. On top of all that, it was incredibly bland. I don't alter recipes on the first run through, but I should have with this one. It needs salt, garlic, onion, alfredo that isn't jarred... We only at a couple bites and through out the entire pan. Will not be making a second appearance. I'd give it a 0 if the system would let me.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I've been making this recipe for years sans mayo. The one time I made it with mayo, I didn't like it. You can use pretty much anything in place of it though. I'm a big fan of buttermilk. I've also used a yogurt and milk mix in the past. I also rotate different items in for crunch. Cornflake crumbs works well as do crushed most crushed crackers, Pepperidge Farm goldfish, and pretzels.

Yummy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
Very salty and soy overpowers the other flavors. I need to try it with half as much soy. When I removed the lid, the oil from the dressing separated. For some reason I expected it to cook down and thicken as a sauce. Cook times are high. Or medium heat on my stove is a lot higher than the person who submitted the recipe. Mine was completely cooked when I checked it at 15 minutes. The flavor was good though and I think, with some tweaking, this will be a good recipe.
