About this Cook
Not much to know about me, if you have any questions or concerns, just ask. I prefer simpler foods and don't believe that adding little trinkets on the side just for looks is a good way to cook. I want my food to be very edible, not something that will turn you on.
My favorite things to cook
I like the preparing of anything over the actual cooking, so I love the recipes that require alot of pre-cook work. I love testing and manipulating new and different marinades especially.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Me and my dad always joke that if cereal wasn't for dinner, then it was coming in a tray from the microwave....if you didn't catch that, my family isn't big on cooking. My mom cooks a few times a month, and I think I've seen my dad cook less than a dozen times in my life time.
My cooking triumphs
Syrup, I found a recipe on here to make home made syrup and I tried it, and everyone in my family loves it, my grandmother even asked for rather large quantities of it for herself for use throughout the year. From that recipe I have made different flavors and tinkered with healthier ingridients for a new flavor every time.
My cooking tragedies
I can't say that I have absolutly ruined any meal, though there have been several where it just wasn't well liked, but that's what happens when you try new things, some you like, others just make you want to throw up.

Caribbean Slaw
I never liked slaw until I had this, never even wanted to try it. Anything with mangoes will do it for me though, so I gave it a shot and I loved it, as well as my family. I changed it up a little bit as I went, I didn't have cilantro or apple cider vinegar, and I used dijon mustard instead of regular mustard. It turned out great and I ate the leftovers first thing the next day. Thanks All Recipes
