Snickerdoodles V

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2015
This is the favorite cookie in my house! I press the dough into the cinnamon & sugar mixture twice. After the first pressing I set it to the side and let the cinnamon & sugar latch onto the moisture from the dough then I recoat them. :) yumyumyum

Baked Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2015
Cut your fresh sprouts in half if you want them tender!!!! Also, add about 10-15 minutes on the timer. I used walnuts instead of pine nuts, just preference. I omitted the cheese, I didn't have any on hand. I added extra lemon juice and half the butter. I will be making this again, with the cheese.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
This recipe is delicious. I added 1 half cup of chopped strawberries and a splash of vanilla. I also reduced the brown sugar and added a little extra flour. next time I may add half a cup of vanilla or peach yogurt (with fruit chunks).... Yum.

Cajun Chicken and Sausage Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
I have made this several times and have to now double the recipe because it goes so fast in my house. I made a few changes though: (remember this is for a doubles recipe) 3 Large white onions, 2 Large heads of garlic rough chopped, Olive oil instead of corn or vegetable oil, About a pound and a half of shrimp, HALF a cup of the creole seasoning! Just to let you know, if you want to try it with the olive oil it will have an awful smell at the start. I almost threw it out right then but it browned so nicely that my husband insisted we give it a try. I like my roux very dark like the color of melted chocolate, so after it darkened I added the rest and cooked it up. It was fantastic. Much better than I expected-with that horrible smell at the beginning and all.... Thank you for a fantastic recipe!!!!
