Best Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
I think these would have been better with a little bit of tweaking. I usually make the egg roll recipe that is on the back of the egg roll wrappers that I buy, which includes a lot of other vegetables that gives the egg rolls a little bit more substance. I added more cabbage than the recipe called for, but still ended up with an egg roll filled mostly with pork. If I were to make these again, I would add in a lot more cabbage and carrots.

Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2005
I thought this recipe was just ok. It was my first attempt at making sweet and sour sauce instead of buying it, but the tomato taste was way too strong and it never reached a thick enough consistency. I added the pineapple tidbits, but after the sauce was done, I wished that I would have either added crushed pineapple or omitted the pineapple altogether. I will continue to look for a recipe that fits what I am looking for!

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
I followed this recipe almost exactly (except that I thought I had tortellini at home, but realized later that it was ravioli. I used it anyway!) It was good, but makes a lot of soup and is not very appetizing to look at for left overs. I would make it again, but scale the recipe so that there were not leftovers.

Ranch Crispy Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2005
This was so simple. I used 1 pkg. ranch mix for 4 chicken breast halves. I didn't measure the bread crumbs, but just used enough to coat the chicken. I had to bake them about 40 minutes, but besides that, it was speedy and easy. The recipe didn't make me go "WOW", but easy and good enough for an easy weekday meal.

Enchiladas Suizas

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
This is one of my favorite enchilada recipes. Also great with shredded beef.

Bacon Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2005
I was pleasantly suprised by this recipe. You wouldn't think that with so few ingredients, this would have so much flavor! I doubled the bacon and used boneless, skinless chicken, but besides that, I followed the recipe. The mushrooms didn't look very pretty like another review said, but they still tasted wonderful! I will definately make this one again.

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2005
I usually don't like to rate recipes if I have any sort of major alteration, but I had to make an exception this time. I used flour tortillas instead of corn (and didn't fry in oil before). This were suprisingly good. I was looking for something easy when I found this recipe, and thought I would try it out even though I was sceptical. I will definately make these again. Very easy, fast, and takes very few ingredients. It's a keeper!

BBQ Chicken Pizza I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2005
I thought this was pretty good, although I had to make more than the recipe called for because I used a pillsbury crust which made a cookie sheet sized pizza. It ended up a little too saucy, but it wasn't too bad for pizza made at home!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
I thought this was just ok, not something I would make again. I thought the taste of mayonnaise was strong, but my fiance couldn't taste it. I only used about half a loaf of french bread and the pan was full. It might have been better with more meatballs.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
This is my favorite lasagna recipe. I have made it several times. It is even better the next day once all of the flavors meld together.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
I thought this was decent, but a bit bland. Make sure you like the taste of sherry (which I do) before adding it, because you can taste the flavor, especially in the leftovers. We ate the remainder as leftovers, but will probably look for a different tetrazzini recipe next time.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
These were quite tasty and very easy. The only thing I did differently was to add sausage to the filling. Warning-these things are huge!! I will probably make 4 instead of 2 next time. There is no way I could finish one!

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
I would actually give this 3 1/2 stars if possible. It was pretty good, but I think it might have been better with marinating for 30 minutes or so. But beware, they are a bit spicy like the title indicates!!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2005
I agree with others and give this a 4 star rating. It was super easy and I had everything on hand. This is something easy for a weeknight dinner, but nothing really impressive. I will make it again when I am needing something that needs very little preparation!!

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: May 18, 2005
YUMMY!!! I will definately keep this recipe around. I doubled the recipe and cooked for my sister and her family, and we ate them all up. Even the kids cleaned their plates. I used garlic cream cheese, and besides having to pound out the chicken, these were extremely easy.

Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
YUM! I actually made this the night before and cooked it the next day. The leftovers are great. I will definately make this again. I was going to add spinach, but forgot, so maybe next time I will try experimenting.

Coconut Poke Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
Wow!!!! This cake was amazing. I didn't think the cake was soggy at all, and I used all of the cream of coconut and sweetened condensed milk. It was a perfectly moist and tasty cake. It was even great the next day. Will DEFINITELY make again and again!!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2005
I was really excited to make this because it sounded so good. It wasn't as good as I had hoped for. I did what other users said and only baked the brownie portion for half the time, but the end result didn't even taste like a brownie. I couldn't taste the caramel layer at all, and the brownie layer was flat and chewy. The only way I would make this again would to play with it a bit to make the brownie layer work.

Beef and Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
I just thought this was ok. It was fast and easy, which was a plus, but as far as the taste went - nothing great to me, just ok. My boyfriend really liked it, but then again, he really likes everything!! I followed advice of others and cooked an onion with the ground beef and also added an extra half can of beef broth. It definately needed that extra half can, maybe even more.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2005
This was a GREAT substitute to banana bread. I had some bananas that I needed to use, and I didn't have an hour to bake a loaf of banana bread. I ate one that night, and one in the morning, but took the remainder to work. I got SO many compliments!! People said that they had never had such a moist muffin (it might be because I used 4 bananas instead of 3.) I'll make these again! I would give them a 5 star, but I like to reserve those for the recipes that really "WOW" me.
