About this Cook
I'm your typical Southern woman. I am married to a wonderful man. As a couple, we love being in the kitchen together, trying new recipes. It's always a great time making a mess in the kitchen together!
My favorite things to cook
I love making traditional southern foods(Fried Chicken, Cornbread{fried or baked}) I also love to try new dishes & have been trying out my slow cooker more & more these days.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Chili beans & cornbread, fried chicken, homemade gravy, hot dog chili---Just a few of the wonderful dishes I learned from my momma before she passed away..
My cooking triumphs
I love making gravy from scratch! Nothing hits the spot better than some pan fried cube steak with homemade gravy over some rice with lima beans & homemade cornbread :)
My cooking tragedies
Once I made a cake, but I left out the eggs(how I overlooked them I don't know!)...it fell apart! I've never been able to reproduce my momma's potato soup...I dont have her recipe & its always a HIT or MISS(perfect or INEDIBLE!!) So I've moved on & found a great crockpot potato soup instead!

Copia's Penne Pasta and Cheese Casserole
Good idea, but super greasy! Next time I won't use all the bacon drippings

Chicken and Bacon Fajitas
Yummy! We made this & really enjoyed it! Seasoned the chicken with garlic/onion powder & pepper while cooking. We omitted mushrooms & cilantro(personal preference). Used salsa instead of tomatoes(like previous reviewers), but we only used about 1/4 cup. We will keep this in our dinner rotation..thanks for sharing :)

McCormick(R) White Chicken Chili
We love this recipe. It's simple to make & tastes great! I always season my chicken with garlic, onion, & black pepper when cooking it. I add 2 cans of beans instead of 1 though & sometimes add 1/2 cup of frozen corn to it. We like to top it with shredded cheese & sour cream. Great with baked or fried cornbread too!!
