Cherry Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
I made the recipe as written but we did not like it. It is very sweet. This may be good as a filling for a freezer pie or even as a sweet dip for graham crackers or cookies but alone , not so much. By itself it needs something to balance the sweetness.

This is a easy to make quinoa recipe and is perfect for the first time you try it. I made the recipe as written and it turned out perfectly. You can also adjust the garlic to your liking.

Oven BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
After reading other reviews I omitted the water completely. I did not have Worcestershire sauce so I just added some onion powder, garlic powder and pepper. I also added some cayenne. I baked for 30 minutes covered, flipped and ladled sauce onto of chicken and then 30 minutes uncovered. The sauce never thickened up and was very soupy. Before serving I ladled more sauce on top of drumsticks. My family loved the chicken and it was very moist and juicy/ fall off the bone. Just wish the sauce would have thickened up.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2014
I had a whole chicken in my deep freezer and decided this morning I should make it in my rotisserie. I needed a rub though and found this recipe. I made it as written with the exception of the white pepper. I did not have any so I omitted it. My family loved the chicken and this will be my go to recipe.

Pink Lemonade Pie from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2014
I was in search of the pink lemonade pie I had growing up and this came pretty close. I made a shortbread gluten free cookie crust using the butter cookie crust recipe here on AR. I made it as a 9x13 instead of "pie". I also used a full tub of "cool whip" instead of half. I placed it in the freezer to firm up. I pulled it out of my deep freezer about 30 minutes prior to serving. I skipped the coconut because i'm allergic.

Sweet Sriracha Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2014
I made close to as written... I tried to make the recipe from memory instead of pulling it up on my phone. After I started I discovered I had Apricot Preserves not Orange marmalade. I also forgot the water but it was ok because my Apricot preserves were a 16oz jar not 12oz and it did not need the extra water. I upped the sriracha based on other reviews and found that 2TB was perfect. Can't wait to try it again with orange marmalade.

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
This is my go to chocolate buttercream frosting. I add more cocoa powder and milk (or heavy cream) depending on what I am making and the consistency I want.

Crazy Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2014
This recipe is good for a starting point. I used more onion and garlic powder than called for. I eyeballed my measurements but I used about a tsp of each. I also did not baste as there is not enough sauce as the recipe is written for basting. They are fine without basting and the sauce on top of each pepper. I also top with cheese because well, cheese makes everything better.

Frozen Strawberry Smoothie Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2014
This were a hit but I made some minor alterations to the recipe.I omitted the apple juice because I forgot to pick up some but these did not need it. I also used vanilla greek yogurt because that is what I had on hand. I ended up with 3 popsicles. My younger 2 really liked them and so did I.

Fresh Blueberry Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
My husband isn't a huge blueberry fan and loved this cake. I made it as written but added about a tsp. of vanilla out of habit. I also made this gluten free with gluten free AP flour and xantham gum.

Milly's Oatmeal Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
I made these gluten free with gluten free AP flour in place of regular AP flour and the addition of 1/2tsp of xantham gum. I halved the recipe but I shouldn't have because my kids devoured these when I turned around to take a picture. I did not add anything in and don't plan to in the future. They were perfect as is.

Honey Vanilla Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
My family loved this ice cream! It is very creamy and rich. It has a deeper flavor than your typical vanilla that leads to others guessing what flavor it is. I will be making this again and again.

Whole Grain Spaghetti with Cherry Tomatoes, Marinated Chicken Breast and Pesto

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2014
We were also a bit disappointed with this recipe and thought it was a bit bland. It was ok but needs to be tweaked a bit to make it better. The only change I made to the recipe was to use gluten free spaghetti.

Thin Spaghetti with Garlic, Red Pepper and Olive Oil

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2014
Quick and Easy! I have made this dish many times with butter instead of olive oil and it remains a favorite. I did not sauté my parsley. I threw it in with the cheese at the end. I also used gluten free spaghetti. To serve I like to add park and more red pepper and parsley.
