Asian Barbequed Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
Flank steak was not available so I used skirt steak. Marinated it overnight and grilled the next day. I found it to be very flavorful. I was concerned about it being too hot because of the amount of chilli sauce but it was just fine. It is slightly salty due to the fish sauce but not too bad.I don't like a lot of salt and it was alright for even me. Served it with coconut-cilantro jasmine rice.

Slow-Cooked White Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
I only used 3 cans of beans based on comments by others. I don't think 5 would have been too many though after making this. It made a nice change from all the tomato based chillies out there. Next time, I might uses a mix of different beans to give it some color and perhaps yellow corn also.

Chipotle Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2011
I easily did this in a slow cooker! Browned the chicken on the stovetop as instructed . Mixed the soup, vinegar, water, brown sugar and chipotle in the cooker. Put the bell pepper in, then the browned chicken and finally topped with the onions. Covered on high until tender- not sure how long that was. When the onions started to cook down , I stirred everything to combine in the liquid. I did however use 2 Tablespoons canned diced chipotle instead of dry

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Think of this as combining potato and mushroom soups. It is chunky as the finished product is not pureed. Not as heavy as some soups but very filling anyway. Seemed to improve the next day as some things do

This was very easy and full of flavor. When I estimate there to be an hour of cooking time left, I added 1 frozen bag of stew veggies to the pot

Found this a very easy to make taco filling.I used McCormick Chicken Taco seasoning and La Costena brand salsa verde. It was done in 7 hrs on low setting. This would even be good served over rice and topped the the juices from the crockpot and some cilantro and onions

Slow Cooker Creole Black Beans and Sausage

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Found this to be a great cold weather dish. Very filling and flavorful. I used Johnsonville Andouille style sausage for the smoked sausage. I believe this made it a little more spicy than reg. smoked sausage would have been. That was the only thing I changed

Pammy's Slow Cooker Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
Made this yesterday. Turned pot very well -it's all gone. I made 1/2 recipe and used wings in place of the legs. The smoked turkey provides excellent flavor to the beans without all the salt and fat that you would get if ham was used for the seasoning
