Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
I don't eat hot peppers but hubby and daughter said FIVE STARS for sure!! Hubby said could have been a little hotter so next time will use pepper jack cheese to spice it up a little more. Other than that...perfect!

Pumpkin Crumb Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2010
This cake was way to rich for my families tastes. Even a little slice made us kind of sick in the stomach. It had a good flavor other than that but I won't be making it again...

Amazingly Easy Irish Soda Bread

This bread was very heavy and crumbly. Maybe that is what Irish Soda Bread is supposed to be though??

Southern Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
This is a family tradition...my mother always preferred vanilla pudding instead of the banana cream as it can sometimes have a "fake" taste. This is also good with graham cracker crumbs instead of the vanilla wafers. It's one of those recipes that anyone can make and most everyone loves!! A++++

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
For those of us who are "pectin challenged" this is the perfect recipe. The jam was sweet but I like sweet things so that was a plus for me! Very easy and very yummy. Mine set up just fine but you do have to make sure to boil for the full amount of time/temp. Thanks for a great recipe

Just "ok" I ended up throwing a good bit of it away the week after Thanksgiving. Just wasn't special.

Southern Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
This is how I have been making my sweet potatoes since I can remember, and how my mother and grandmother did before me. The only difference is that I use brown sugar instead of white. I think it gives it a more "carmelized" flavor and texture. I also omit the spices all together. I don't care for spicy sweet potatoes, just SWEET sweet potatoes :0) Be sure to use "real" butter for this as that is part of the fabulous end result!!!! Thanks!

Vegetable Pizza I

Just the one I was looking for! I like this because you can use any combination of vegetables to suit your tastes. I personally like to use cauliflaur, matchstick carrots, tomatoes, and diced cukes on mine.

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
The only problem I had with this was the amount it made...I ended up with a lot left over after the potluck. It had a very good flavor though! Maybe next time I'll half the recipe and use a smaller dish.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2005
These had a great flavor, but were SUPER dry, even after the addition of milk.(think wallpaper paste) They were actually better the next day. I put them in a square casserole dish and put some milk and butter on top, then heated them in the oven. The extra milk the second time around made them a little more appetizing. I will probably try them again, adding even more milk this time.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
This was AWESOME!!! I tried to make a recipe a lot like this one other time, and it didn't turn out. I'm so glad I gave it another go with this recipe. The flavors blend together to make a different but very good taste, and the jello and strawberries set up beautifully. Thanks so much

Easy Ham and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
Without any changes or additions, this recipe would be pretty bland. I did give it three stars because it was a good starting point. I added an extra can of soup (cream of chicken), doubled the cheese, and also added some garlic powder and minced onion. It turned out really yummy and I will be making it again, but only with the additions.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
These shells had a great taste. I did substitute half of the cottage cheese with ricotta. Otherwise, I left the recipe "As Is". It would have earned 5 stars, but it was pretty time consuming. Make sure you have all the ingredients on hand and have about an hour for preparation, as that's about how long it took me without rushing. I don't know about you, but I hate to rush when cooking. I would only make this on a day when I have the extra time. Overall, a GREAT RECIPE! Thanks Karen!!

Baked Pork Chops I

VERY VERY GOOD! I didn't change any of the ingredients except I used a glove of garlic in place of rubbing the chops with garlic powder. I am going to try this recipe with venison chops next time. I think it will be just as good...thanks for a great recipe.

Chicken Scampi I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
I don't know if it's cause I'm on a diet or what, but everything I eat lately has tasted awesome...this one was no exception! I didn't give it all five stars because it got a little dried out in the oven. Other than that, it was really good. I served it over brown rice with peas on the side, and ended the meal with pears. Altogether, the whole meal was only 9 points!! (weight watchers 123 sucess points, that is). Thanks for feeding this starving gal right ;)

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
Another winner from "Mrs. Sigg"!!! I substituted walnuts for the pecans, and added an extra 1/2 cup chocolate chips, and they turned out perfect!! I use a pampered chef baking stone, and the cookies did take an extra couple of minutes in the oven. These are good warm out of the oven, and are just as good the next day after they've cooled! Thanks so much Beth!!!
