Leg of Lamb

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Thank you for an incredible Easter leg of lamb recipe. Mine was only 2.3 lbs but not a problem--followed the recipe and added only some freshly-chopped rosemary. Feeling jubilant about how well it turned out, and how easy it was to execute. Thanks again.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2011
Tried several granola recipes before lucking out on this one. The honey/brown sugar/maple syrup combination is perfect. I do cut back on the nuts by half and only do 1.5 cups of bran/germ, resulting in a chewier granola. Thank you, Megan.

Mushroom Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
We usually grill our pork tenderloins, but this was a welcome change in method. Absolutely delicious. Added more mushrooms as previously suggested, and zinfandel to the sauce. Didn't have marjoram on hand so substituted oregano with good results. Also added light cream to the sauce. Positively incredible. Thank you Kathy Mackey.

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Wow! Fork-tender flavor-permeated turkey for Thanksgiving. I brined it (10 lb.) in my cleaned-out sink from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., adding ice to keep it at a cool temp. This is a keeper/pass along recipe. Thank you, Sheri.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
LOVED this recipe. Followed another reviewer's advice and used 1/4 cup of milk rather than the water, and only a little olive oil. Already thinking about the leftovers for tomorrow.

Tasty Baked Chicken

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Easy and good, just not outstanding. A little on the bland side for me, although it was wonderfully moist. I used white wine in lieu of sherry and fresh tarragon. I'll try again but maybe added minced garlic.

SO easy and SO good. Can be made ahead and popped in the oven at the last minute. I'll make this again, certainly.

Filet Mignon with Mushroom-Cabernet Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
Fantastic meal. No leftovers. Used green onions instead of shallot. Rather than corn starch, made a roux with flour and butter and added the shiraz to that. Perfect mix of tender and crusty. We'd have happily paid a lot for this in a restaurant. Can't wait to try again soon.

Thai Salmon Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
We really liked this. Smell of the fish sauce put me off, but added an incredible, hard-to-define taste to the sauce. Skipped the chiles. Also the tomato (terrible this time of year). Used pesto I'd frozen from last summer--two ice cube tray sized ones. Used red onion. Also romaine lettuce. The flavor is lingering in my mouth as I write and I can't wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow.

Fresh Rhubarb Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Excellent way to use frozen cubed rhubarb in the middle of winter. I thawed and squeezed out the rhubarb's extra moisture before using. Also added a few tablespoons of brandy with the egg mixture for an extra zip. Wow was this good.

Steamed Mussels I

Couldn't be easier or more delicious. I'll be using this recipe again and again. It was fun to listen to the mussels popping open in the pan.

Awesome Baked Sea Scallops

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Effortless way to get perfectly-done scallops. My familly loved it--no leftovers, boo hoo. Used only pinch of nutmeg. Used homemade French bread chunks, and they were like mini garlic toasts. It was all so good that I wanted to lick the serving bowl before I washed it.
