Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
This was soooo good! I'm not normally a pot roast fan, so I was skeptical. I did make a couple of modifications: 1 can cream of mushroom, 1 can golden mushroom soup. I added a can of mushrooms, beef broth, 1/2 packet of onion soup and about an hour before it was ready, I threw in a cup of red wine. Yummmmmmmmm :) Definitely a keeper!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
I have the pickiest boys ever and this is the *only* meatloaf recipe I use. They like it so much, that I make two loaves, just so there is a chance at leftovers. I don't put the sugar/ketchup in the pan though.. I mix a couple of Tbsp into the meat and then spread the rest on top instead. Yummmm!!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2013
Yumm!! I didn't have any ham, so I substituted some kielbasa instead ~ It was fantastic! The smoky flavor of the kielbasa hit the spot and added all kinds of flavor. I threw in some carrots too ~ huge hit at the dinner table today!

Super Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
My new favorite squash recipe! I followed the recipe for the most part, but I added a handful of bacon bits to the squash mix, doubled the cheese and added extra pepper. I didn't have any stuffing on hand, so I topped it with a layer of crushed Ritz crackers and butter coated Panko bread crumbs for some crunch. OH MY.. is this good ~ even my picky teenagers went in for a second helping. Definitely a keeper!

Black Bean Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2013
Oh my goodness.... I made these only because I was convinced that there was no way that they would taste good. I was SO wrong! It may help that my blender is a Vitamix, so it pulvarized the beans. I added a tsp of baking powder, a handful of chopped pecans and a sprinkle of toffee pieces to the mix. I'm pretty sure that i will never make another brownie mix again! Sooooo yummy!

Apple Pie in a Jar Drink

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2013
I Love this recipe! This is our favorite 'go-to' drink, we make it all the time. I let the juice simmer for an hour or so, then I'll throw a hand full of red hot candies in the cider while it's simmering for a little extra cinnamon flavor. I like to use 1/2 c white sugar and 3/4 c brown sugar.. I think it makes it taste more like apple pie. If you're using moonshine instead of everclear, I'd add and extra 1/4 c of sugar and make sure you give it time to mellow. The most important thing to know about this recipe is that it needs to Mellow. As hard as it is sometimes.. bottle it up and put it away. Open up a jar in three months and THEN decide what you think of this recipe. OMG, amazing.
