About this Cook
I love to share recipes with other people, and to have people share their recipes with me. I very much enjoy shopping at Farmers Markets, and I believe the quality of the ingredients you cook with makes a huge difference in the final product. I like to make things from scratch, instead of using canned or boxed products. Of course, because I work and go to school, I don't always have time to do that, but when I can, I will try any home-made project I can get my hands on.
My favorite things to cook
I like making Frankensoup. Some people call this "refrigerator soup" but that sounds even less appealing. I try to keep a good pantry full of my personal staples in an organized manner. I like seasonal recipes that I can use whole fresh produce in. I'm that person who adds all these extra fresh vegetables into your recipe. Especially zucchini, it's so underrated.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In the tradition of my Italian grandma, my mother and I would make gnocchi every Christmas. It would take us several days to make the dumplings, which we would let dry on sheets covering the dining room table. My other grandma is from Alabama, and she would make the best chicken fried steak I've ever had.
My cooking tragedies
I once dropped a jar of mayonnaise on the kitchen floor. It was a glass jar, so there were shards of glass and mayo all over the floor. It was the most disgusting clean-up job in my kitchen experiences.

Dutch Babies II
I like that this is really easy to put together, but to me the taste of it is nothing to write home about. It's not like a pancake, but not like a bread, and hard to make into a sweet treat (which is what I wanted). I put cinnamon and sugar on mine. I probably won't make it again.

Martha's Cornbread Dressing
This is a solid recipe. Everyone liked it. I used chicken and apple sausage instead of the chicken, and as another reviewer suggested, 2.5 cups of chicken stock to soak the dressing in. I also sauteed the onion and celery with the chicken sausage beforehand. Very easy to put together, as long as you make the biscuits and cornbread a few days in advance and have those in the fridge.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II
I used Jack cheese instead of the mozzarella. This was very good, everyone enjoyed it. Using whipped cream cheese might make it easier to mix up, but I didn't read the reviews before getting the ingredients. I mixed mine with my hands because it was too difficult with the spoon, even though I left the cream cheese out to soften for a few hours.
