Steakhouse Black Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2014
This recipe is easy and makes excellent sandwich rolls. The only thing I changed was that I added 2 teaspoons of caraway seed. Plan on making this to have some corned beef sandwiches for St. Patrick's Day!

Excellent recipe..I would ad some fennel seed to the recipe. We made this out of ground deer ground and it was a big hit. Thank you for a great addition to the table.

Colonial Brown Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This recipe is an excellent! Thank you! It can be more healthy if you use non-fat powdered milk with vinegar to substitute for the butter milk. It has no reflection in the end result. Sunflower seeds, honey, molasses, the options are endless. Muffins too! Be prepared that it will erupt like a volcano as baking. Enjoy and thank you for a great recipe.

Homemade Salami

I missed something on this recipe. It was time consuming and didn't taste like sausage at all. We make all of our sausage from scratch and don't know what I could have done to change this one to make it better.

Cake with Buttercream Decorating Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I didn't use the cake recipe, but this is by far the easiest and best buttercram frosting you can find. It holds its form but remains soft and tastes like butter. Thank you for a great recipe!

Kaese Spaetzle

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This is to die for! Mix everything and put in a zip lock bag. Cut a small hole on a corner and dispense and cut with a kitchen scissors. This is sooooo....good with Sauerbraten I here on this site. Thank you so much for a taste of Bavaria!

Sauerbraten I

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This is an excellent recipe. Do not half anything. Marinate the meat, brown the meat as stated, put ALL of the marinate (carrots, onions, minus the bay leaves) into a large crock pot, the browned meat and cook on low for 8 hours. To thicken add about 15 crushed ginger snaps and cook for 30 - 40 minutes more. The gravey is the best part of this and is excellent on spaetzle! Enjoy

Seven-Minute Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
This recipe is excellent. But, I have made it simple and you don't microwave. Just take all of the ingredients put them in the blender for one minute and then place into a saucepan on medium heat stirring until thickened! I added two squares of shaved dark chocolate and it was chocolate pudding. The texture in this pudding is superb! Has lots of versatility also (banana, strawberry, butterscotch). Would be excellent to fill cakes with! Thank you very much for a great recipe!

It's the best. Just keep the door shut and don't get in a hurry! The easiest and best there is for a cheese cake.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
Forget this recipe! 1 - Most bread machines rise once! 2 - If you read the directions it says when the dough cycle has FINISHED! 3 - Dough should never rise three times which it would if you use the bread machine! We feed this to the ducks and they didn't even like it. Don't waste your time or ingredients. I am not a novice to bread making. The dough was sticky, and unworkable. Lightly flour wouldn't even allow you to work with it. I cut the slits and they just disappeared. There are many recipes that are better than this one.

German Rye Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
This is great bread even though I tweeked it a bit. I always use beer instead of water. I halved the recipe and used two cups of warm beer(microwave for one minute on power level 8). I do the dough setting in the bread machine and then half for two loaves and let rise again and bake in pans. This bread is sticky and I added about 1/2 cup more flower as it was climbing the bread machine and too sticky. Great bread and gone when it hits the table!

Tarragon Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
This was good, but it would have been better without the parsley. The parsley I used fresh was very bitter. I will omit the parsley the second time around. I also added a few finely chopped onions instead of the chives. I will make again with the corrections above.

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
This intimidated me at first. It was the first New York Cheesecake I have ever baked. It turned out awsome! Takes a long time to bake, but is well worth the effort. We topped it with canned blueberries (pie filling) and was the hit of Easter dinner!

I expected a sweet mellow taste. This was very bitter!! Would not waste all the time or ingredients in making it again! I followed the recipe to a "T"....even tried adding some cheese later on! It just got worse!
