Shannon's Smoky Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
I halved this recipe and still easily filled a 9x13 pan and made A LOT of mac and cheese. I have a personal favorite recipe for mac and cheese that I doctor on a regular basis. This is a very close second... It was so great and I loved every bite. I added some italian seasoning and some black pepper. But those are the only changes I made! It's wonderful.

Venison Tenderloin Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2013
I made these almost exactly to recipe (just added a little extra spices like I usually do) and they were delicious! I was doubtful but they were tender and yummy. I served over pasta which was a little heavy but my boyfriend felt they would be good with a light tomato sauce... almost like a venison parm. But they were easy and so good. This will definitely happen again!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2011
I let the thighs sit in the juice about 20 minutes or so before I cooked them. I don't know if that helped but I was so impressed with how well the thighs kept the flavor of the juice. I followed others' advice and baked the thighs first and then broiling them. This will definitely get made again! Thank you for a great recipe!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
This was GREAT! It's so quick and so easy, I was really impressed with how quickly it all went together. The sauce was forgiving and simple. I didn't have Udon noodles to I actually used Angel Hair pasta and it still tasted wonderful. This will become a staple when I want something different and quick for sure.

Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
Made this tonight for a friend and it was great! I added cumin as other reviewers did and by mistake left out the chili powder because even though I thought I had some, I didn't... I did have cocoa with chili powder so I added about a teaspoon of that and it turned out lovely. Thanks for this!

Pumpkin Cheesecake in a Gingersnap Crust

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
I give it five stars because it's good on it's own but with my changes it's AWESOME! I didn't use nuts in the crust because of family nut allergies. 2 cups crumbs to help make the crust crustier. 1.5 CANS of pumpkin. Double cinnamon and allspice and add nutmeg to taste. I cook it on a cookie sheet because the butter tends to drip out of the spring form pan and make a giant mess in my oven. Thanks for this great recipe. It made me a lot of friends at work too :)

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
AWESOME! And the one I tasted was fresh out of the oven. I took advice and chilled the dough and they are plump and beautiful. They really are some of the best cookies I've ever had. Thanks for posting this. It won't be the only recipe that I use but it will appear frequently. And no real changes needed, perfect just as is. Thanks again!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2010
5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5 !!!! These were incredible! I just finished eating these and they were wonderful! They smelled so good that I actually left the house just so I could come back and smell them new again. Since getting into using my slow cooker I have found that many recipes have the promise of thorough good taste and may even smell great but fall short on flavor, not so with these. THANK YOU for this recipe, it's definitely a new favorite. I only made two tiny changes: as many others did I flipped the chops twice during cooking time. I also only did three smaller but thick chops and they were fully cooked in three hours on high. Thanks again for these great chops, I can't wait to make them for my boyfriend when he gets home.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
The pork tasted great! You could taste a little of the root beer in the pork and the texture was great! I will definitely be making this again. I did use a pork shoulder and poked holes in the pork like another reviewer. I cooked it for six hours on low, drained and shredded it and then added some sauce and cooked it for about forty more minutes on low. Loved it. Thanks!

No Roll Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
I made these in a jam for a dinner/scotch party. I used colored sugar and some Kahlua martini rim sugar to press down on the cookies and it really added a nice color/flavor to go with some Irish coffee at the end of the night. These were SO quick and SO easy and pretty darn good. I'm very impressed and happy to have a short time sugar cookie. Thank you!

These were fantastic and so easy. I always leave a few lumps in the batter :) And I added some cinnamon and vanilla because I had a sweet tooth. Thanks!

Yummmm! The only changes I made were adding Romano to the mix and using some meat also because I happen to love meat. This was great, thank you!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
Easy and good. The only changes I made was that I used my own taco seasoning blend that I make and I used beef because that is what I wanted today. I could see this being great with chicken too and will definitely try it in the future.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
I followed some of the other suggestions, more flour, more peanut butter and some vanilla. They are soft and beautiful. I make then for a coworker and he thinks they are the best peanut butter cookies he has ever had! Thanks for this great recipe!

Spinach Basil Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
I did not edit this recipe at all and I cannot say that very often. I was worried it wouldn't be flavorful enough but it was wonderful. Even my boyfriend (who was skeptical while I was making it) loved and I had to cut him off so I had some left to take to my work picnic. Thanks for this, it will be a new regular!

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2012
Um... this ROCKED. I don't usually love the slow cooker recipes on this site, I've found they tend to be bland. The only minor changes I made was adding some garlic, seasoning the chicken first and using bonless skinless breasts (had to reduce cook time to about two hours). They have great flavor. I didn't thicken the sauce this time but I will next time. It's definitely a good dish and I am happy I made it. For how easy it is it's definitely worthy of happening again.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
These were really good. Very thick and cakey. Someone mentioned they made good "cookie bouquet cookies" and they are right on... that's exactly what they were like. My cookie cutters aren't that big though and I still only made about half of what the recipe says it will make. Just a side note.

Slow Cooker Thai Peanut Pork

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2012
I give this four because it definitely needs some tweaks but with them it was good. 8 hours is WAY too long! I made it with chicken so cooked on high for about two but 8 hours still would have been too much for pork. I added some garlic and didn't have teryaki so I subbed out an asian dipping sauce that's similar. I would also put the veggies in with or even after the peanut butter whatever veggies you use. 8 hours in a slow cooker does not a yummy veggie make! But thanks for a great base to something my boyfriend just ADORED... and he can be very picky!
