I love this recipe, have shared it with all my family, and now make it a couple of times a month! It was so tasty and easy, and it made my whole house smell like a New Orleans French Quarter restaurant! I couldn't find the right sausage, but I read that a smoked meat was a good substitute to get the right flavor so I used Black Forest ham and it tasted wonderful. I did change it a little the second time I made it and left out the shrimp because it didn't seem to absorb the flavors of the spices as well as the chicken, and I added a whole can of chicken broth so I could serve it as a soup over rice.
