Easy Grilled Chicken Teriyaki

Reviewed: May 19, 2014
My changes: I didn't have lemon juice so I used a bit of lemon jam/spread. I also added some Red Rooster chili sauce like some of the reviewers recommended and reduced the teriyaki sauce to half. Tasted delicious though and was very easy. I doubled the sauce and used half for stirfrying vegetables.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2014
Pre-cooked slivers of bacon, then cooked chicken in bacon fat. Last-minute added artichokes and diced red peppers. Doubled the artichokes, didn't add capers or mushrooms. Added the lemon butter slowly to make sure I didn't get it too greasy as reviewers mentioned. I ended up using 2/3 of the lemon butter.

Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
This is one of my least favourite recipes ever from the website. It was sooo bland (ground turkey with quinoa was really BLAH!!) and the turkey did dry out off the sides of the loaf. If I was to ever make it again (I won't) I would cook the quinoa in flavourful broth, caramelize the onions (double them) and ... no, still wouldn't be worth saving.

Cocktail Meatballs IV

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
We loved it. I used frozen meatballs like most of the other reviewers. Throw everything into a crockpot on high for an hour and it's all done. I also added some HP sauce and worchestshire sauce.

Quick Cassoulet

Reviewed: May 28, 2012
Important tip: Extend the cooker time - let this simmer for half an hour. ***And*** if there are beans that were dried and soaked overnight ... then cook for an extra half-hour or they're crunchy :( This dish failed for me and we had to go to the neighbourhood pub .... We put it in the slow cooker the next day on Low for 4 hours and it vastly improved so the beans weren't crunchy.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Great! Here's what I did differently ... I added 4 frozen/thawed bananas so it's way more banana-y. I didn't have baking soda so I used baking powder, it was white. I added a teaspoon of lime juice but no walnuts just for taste preference and consistency.

Hot Mexican Spinach Dip

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
Delicious but revised as per other reviewers. Omitted the evaporated milk. Also omitted the black olives for preference and made the salsa fresh from scratch. It needs a bit more spice.

Low Carb Cauliflower Leek Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
I can't believe this is healthy ... to die for. Only modification: We used half chicken stock, half vegetable stock because that's what we had available. Used all 8 cups and we ground pepper into it. New favourite!!!!!!!!!!!

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
My only change was that I used Sri Racha Rooster chili sauce - I'm not sure if this is what the author meant by "Chili Sauce" and they were too spicy for some of the guests and adored for their spiciness for others. I would use less Rooster sauce next time!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
We double the bacon and triple the parmesan and quintuple the bacon fat and then we gobble. It's pure pleasure from a pan. Oh yeah.

Southwestern Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
Yummy! I agree with the other reviews - half water and half chicken stock. Also, I would crumble the feta very, very small.
