Ny name is Jackie and my husband and I got married on 6/14/2009. He is my favortie person to cook with. We like trying new things and different foods.
My favorite things to cook
On the weekends I love cooking dishes that take all day to make. I love chili, spaghetti sauces, pot roast, the list could go on and on. I also enjoy making quick meals during the week when dinner needs to be ready 10 mintues ago. I like to experiement with burgers and different pasta dishes for a quick meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Irish & Italian so we are always in the kitchen. I enjoy talking and cooking with my family. It is always such a wonderful time with everyone around the stove drinking wine and talking.
My cooking triumphs
Well I don't remember anything that I made that was a triumph. But I do try to experiment with recipes sometimes trying to put my own spin on it. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad.
My cooking tragedies
I would have to say the time I tried to make a turkey for 25 co-workers and their families. I forgot to take the giblets out for almost an hour then I over cooked that beautiful bird. Then if that wasn't enough, I made gravy that was oily and bland. That was definitly the worst cooking experience I have ever had.

Chicken in a Pot
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was easy and tasty. I did add a pinch of red pepper flake and about 1/2 cup more broth. I served with steamed broccoli for a healthy meal.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
I made this twice and it was good except when I used red potatoes instead of russet it turned out better. I'm not sure exactly why but the red potatoes tasted better. So I will make again and use them. Beside from that wonderful recipe and will make again and again.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
Great recipe. I made this just as it stated and it turned out wonderful. I added a little bit more parmesan cheese but besides that it was great on its own. I was worried about not cooking the meatballs first but they cooked perfectly in the sauce. I will make these again for sure. No need to buy premade meatballs when these are so easy.
