Spicy Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
I made this soup for the first time and it was delicious! I made a few changes. Instead of using lemon juice, I used lime (I feel this goes well with curries). I also added sesame oil while cooking which added more depth. I blended all of the veggies with the stock with a hand blender before adding the cocnut milk. I also added cilantro during the last few minutes of cooking and then removed it to add extra "thai" flavour. I will be making this again for sure! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Breakfast Burritos de Frank

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2010
I made these both ways, but I personally like putting the salsa, cheese, and beans in the scrambled egg mixture with a small amount of diluted sour cream. I heat everything up in the same pan and they turn out great! Too be extra healthy, I sometimes use only egg whites and low fat cheese on a whole wheat tortilla. Perfect match with a full bodied coffee!

Chicken Pasta II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
This recipe had a great flavour, but I thought it was a little soupy. I managed to thicken it up with some cheese and let it sit in the fridge and then reheat it to soak up the liquid.

Pan Seared Lemon Tilapia with Parmesan Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
A good basic receipe and very easy to make. However, fresh herbs are much better than the dried pencil shavings you use from the spice rack (except oregano). Try it with all fresh ingredients...the flavour is more intense and it adds more colour to the plate (as another reveiwer commented on presentation).

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2010
This was excellent! I served for a party and everyone loved it! It goes great with a glass of champagne. Make sure to use real butter for the tortillas. It has a more rich taste than the cooking spray or margarine. Thanks for the recipe. It is now in the party dish rotation! :)

Lucky and Rippy's Favorite Dog Food

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
While my poodle would love to have a constant diet of chicken, there does need to be some variety. Also, it seems as if some reviewers are taking better care of their pets than themselves! I don't think this recipe is meant to be the only thing that the dog eats (it does say mix with kibble, hopefully a higher end nutritious one!) Thanks for the recipe!

Slightly Healthier College Ramen Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
Add a cheese slice. In Korea they call it, "Chesseh Ramen." It also takes away some of the spiciness of traditional Ramen. Delicious!

Toasti

I don't think there's anything Korean about this. I remember having a street snack with a bulgogi burger with cabbage and egg...but not this. It needs some spice!

I used this as a base for a quiche. I added some asparagus, onions, and cherry tomato to the mixture and topped it with some shredded cheddar cheese...perfection!

It makes sense to me to omit the boxed hamburger meal and just use plain pasta and add your own seasonings...otherwise you are just adding a whole bunch of ingredients to try and mask the horrible taste of hamburger helper.

Korean Spicy Chicken Tenders with Sweet Apple

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
When I was living in Korea there was a restaurant that served what we called, "Chilli Chicken." This is almost that exact chicken! I loved this dish so much that I was considering flying back there on vacation just to have it again. I also added come red pepper flakes to the recipe. We love spicy food! Thank you!

Kim-Bop is delicious. Try it with just tuna, som elong pickled radish (you can find this is a asian speciality store) and some carrot. This brings back find memories of Korea with late night norrey-bongs and kimbop with some soju. Mah-Ju-Soy-Oh!
