Sweet and Sour Sauce II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
So easy and so delicious! I substituted a cup or so of ketchup for the tomato paste since I didn't have tomato paste and it still came out great! Thanks :)

Cranberry Scones

Very tasty! I used vanilla yogurt and heavy cream instead of the half and half and they turned out great!

Applesauce Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I added more cinnamon and a bit of cardamom and I had to omit the sour cream completely (since I didn't have any on hand), adding some heavy cream instead, but it came out amazing! I would recommend dousing the raisins in hot water with a bit of vanilla added to it for a few minutes to get them nice and plump in the bread. I also topped the bread with crushed walnuts and pecans. Thanks so much for sharing!

Flan Mexicano (Mexican Flan)

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
I had tried the Spanish Flan on this site, and while I thought that was lovely, it was NOTHING compared to the texture of this one! I omitted the orange stuff and left it traditional vanilla way. Instead of the whole milk, cornstarch, and heavy cream, I just used a can of evaporated milk. Obviously, it is the 3 eggs and two egg yolks that makes this one have a divine texture! I definitely recommend it, even the simple way with just a can of evaporated milk, one can of condensed milk, vanilla, and the eggs blended and cooked just as directed here! Excellent! This is my flan recipe from now on.

Danish Cinnamon Snails

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Mine didn't come out quite so pretty, since I had a bit of trouble layering the two sheets of dough. Perhaps next time I'll simply roll them each on their own to get prettier results. The taste was great! It was fun making them, and they made the kitchen smell divine. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Spanish Flan

Delicious and easy! I used a bit of lemon juice in the sugar to help it melt faster, and an extra egg in the custard for firmer texture. Thanks so much!

In a water bath, it's even better! I prefer the firmer texture of four eggs instead of three.

Chicken Noodle Soup II

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2011
Fantastic soup! I made it mostly because I felt too sick to go to the store, but it came out amazing even with my poorly rolled-out and cut noodles. They may have been shaped differently than I am used to, but they had much better texture and were more filling and delicious than ever. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Best Butternut Squash Soup Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Excellent! This was the first time I ever made butternut squash soup, and it was simple and delicious! I skipped a few ingredients like the onion and allspice (substituting ginger and a bit of cinnamon) because I did not have them at the moment, but the soup still came out perfectly. Thanks for sharing! I will make this again.
