I'm not a great cook, but I'm an expert eater. Even as a kid, I was intrigued by the art of creating delicious dishes, but hadn't really had the time until about two years ago to learn beyond what it takes to survive with some semblance of proficiency in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
While I love to make things the family will eat, I still lean towards the quick and easy timesavers, or slow cooking that I can plan my day around. I love to grill, but I am still trying to find my true grilling sense that I can count on...I'd like to be more consistent.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pretty simple things from my mom's kitchen when I was little. I remember my first real cooking project was when she let me make the cornbread for one Thanksgiving Day's cornbread dressing. To this day, it's not Thanksgiving without cornbread dressing.
My cooking triumphs
Nothing noteworthy, it's just cool when you get those compliments, huh?
My cooking tragedies
Like Sinatra, "regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention." And I'm not a big risk-taker, so it makes sense I haven't done too much harm to my, or someone elses, kitchen, digestive tract, or olfactory nerves.
