Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
I've been cooking pot roast for years. My recipe when I was working. Laughed at Chef's comment. Throwing everything in the slow cooker and let it cook, "well that just.. stupid." Though it always worked and was good, this recipe is delicious. It is more time consuming but worth every savory morsal. I didn't have fresh herbs so I used dried. Next time fresh just to see the difference. Use a chuck roast since the store didn't have any bone in. Everything remained as written. My friend said he could smell it from the garage. Made homemade Mashed Red Potatoes & the gravy was full of flavor. It's a keeper for sure. Thanks Chef.

The Best Meatloaf I've Ever Made

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
My family liked it, but it was way to salty for me and i only put a tsp of salt. No need for it with the salt in all the other ingredients. I wouldn't put it up to 400 either. I have made more versions of meat loaf then I care to remember. The tomato sauce is a preference of choice. I usually put brown sugar, ketchup and mustard but I wanted to follow the recipe.

Quick Hoppin' John Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
I made this today for New Years. Used all the ingredients as listed. I did however take others suggestion and put onion and green pepper in with the sausage. As it was cooking, i would taste test and found it to be a bit bland. I ended up adding ground pepper and then Franks Hot Sauce. If I do make it again I will add seasoned tomatoes. You can really be creative with this recipe, but as it stand on it own, didn't have enough flavor for me.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2011
So glad I found this recipe, it was a great hit with my father and husband, I'm not suppose to eat shrimp because of the sodium but couln't help myself. I used Frank's hot sauce which I like better then tabasco not as bitter to me. It was simple and easy and served it with filets for a surf and turf. Excellent! I'll pass this on one to my fb friends who share recipes.

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
I made this as written except used regular Ranch as that is what I had and grape tomatoes. You can do a lot with this recipe or keep it as is. I like the idea of adding some lettuce and peas. The recipe makes alot & I thought I would give that a try with the left overs. It will stay in my recipe box.thx

Craig's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Being from Annapolis we eat a lot of cocktail sauce and tarter sauce with our seafood. What I love about this is you can add alittle more of one inngredient to your liking. I followed the recipe as is except I did not have any steak sauce. Still fabulous. I cut the recipe in half and my husband loved it too with our breaded shrimp. It's a keeper in my recipe box. thx

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Can my husband tell me any more times how much he liked this? :) I used boneless center cut pork chops b/c that is what I had and was worried that they would dry out. I only cooked it for about 40 minutes and they were great. I think it will be even better with bone in as I have a similar family recipe to this one. Followed the recipe as written. Now in my Recipe box, thank you

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I'm always looking for a good sauce recipe and this is it. I was making raviloi and didn't want to have meat in my sauce. This was quick and easy. I did add an extra clove of garlic and alittle basil not realizing it wasn't called for. Excellent and I will put this on my keeper list!

I was curious just to try it because of the ingredients. Very simple and quick. I asked my teenage daughter what she thought she said good, maybe next time put some raisins or dried cranberries on top. Thought that was interesting

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
I'm from Maryland and love trying Cream of Crab soup. After picking the leftover crabs from Labor Day I went with this recipe. It was the Hollandaise sauce that caught my attention. It was excellent and I followed it faithfully. For me and my family too salty due to the old bay so like other posts add it to your desire. Making it again, this time I bought the crab already picked. Thanks Karyn.
