Banana Trifle

I make a very similar version of this trifle. The only real difference is that I substitute spice cake for the pound cake. It brings out the banana flavor and gives the recipe a kick!

Seven Layer Taco Dip

This dip was fantastic! I did make a couple of changes, though. First, I mixed a pound of ground beef with the refried beans (I cooked the hamburger in about 3/4 of the taco seasoning). Secondly, I added 1/4 of the taco seasoning to the sour cream/cream cheese layer for a little extra taste. Third, I used half cheddar cheese and half taco cheese for some extra Mexican flavoring. Finally, I didn't use lettuce after reading some of the reviews, but I'm sure that had no affect on the taste. I will absolutely make this again!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Amazing! And you can use whatever fruit combination you want for the salsa. My preference is apples, bananas, kiwi, and strawberries with a little grape jelly mixed in. The chips and salsa are always a huge hit!

Pretzel Turtles

Easy and amazing! Grid pretzels are best, but mini-pretzels will substitute in a pinch. I used the Dove caramels instead of Rolos because I prefer the taste/texture of Dove. Also, I followed the advice of several other reviewers and baked the pecan on top of the chocolate, then lightly pressed it down when I took the turtles from the oven. These were a HUGE hit at several holiday celebrations. These are too easy not to try at least once.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Luscious Slush Punch

I've made this for several holiday parties now, and it's always a big hit! I would suggest freezing this overnight for the best effect. It's excellent as is, but for those looking for an extra "kick," I add a splash of vodka.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

This is so fantastic! I followed the recipe, using mini-chocolate chips as so many suggested. This was part of my daughter's birthday cake, and I found it easy to frost and decorate. When I was mixing the batter, it had this interesting, blob-like consistency that made it so easy to pour. It rose beautifully in the oven, too. Because this was for a birthday, I didn't use a bundt cake pan, but rather 2 8x8 square pans. This cake is moist and chocolatey, and definitely a go-to recipe!

Simple White Cake

Maybe I did something horribly wrong, but the cake had the consistency/texture of cornbread, and it didn't rise properly. I had to scramble for a different recipe :(

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

My favorite holiday cookie! These tasted so great. I was a little leery of the batter when I pulled a rock of batter from my refrigerator, but it baked beautifully. I couldn't find Andes mints anywhere, so I sprinkled Andes chips on top for the same effect. I couldn't stop eating them!

Best Lemonade Ever

Like other reviews, I decreased the sugar by 1/4c. I am a sugar fanatic, but the full amount would have been a little too much. I made a double batch for a party, and it was almost gone by the end. This really is the best lemonade ever!

I can't believe how well this went over with my office. Several people begged me for the recipe. It takes 5 minutes to throw together and turns out beautifully. Just make sure you don't make the batch too thick or it will never break!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Incredibly salty (though still yummy)! I would suggest using some low sodium soup to balance the salt, if you can find it. I've also used 1 can of cream of mushroom soup in substitute of 1 can of cream of chicken. This really is a decent recipe over all but, even as someone who adores salt, I thought the original recipe was too much.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Amazing. Just amazing. I'm always experimenting with different types of cookies, but this is the cookie everyone begs for the most. I did change the recipe slightly as recommended by other reviews. I substituted 1/2c brown sugar for 1/2c of the white sugar, I baked the cookies for 12-13 minutes instead of 15, I was far more liberal with my spices (and that includes adding it to the icing), and I drizzled the icing rather than drowning the cookie. I've already made 3 batches since "pumpkin season" began, and I anticipate baking at least another 3-5 batches before Christmas. It will be a hit at your Office Christmas party!

Chocolate Chip Muffins

If made as per the recipe, these muffins turn out VERY dry, though still pretty tasty. To aid with the dryness, I would suggest the same additions as other reviewers: adding 1 cup of milk (rather than 3/4), being liberal with the oil, and adding a splash of vanilla.
