Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2003
Simply fantastic! In fact, after making this once before for a party I am now making three to take to Thanksgiving! I just use powdered sugar as a dusting. Can't get any better than this!

Philly Steak Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2003
Seeing as I've never had a "true" Philly Steak sandwich, I thought these were awesome!! I thought maybe all the spices the recipe called for were excessive but they mixed together wonderfully. My husband and kids all thought this was great. I skippd the broiling part and just added the cheese (provolone, NOT swiss) at the very end and stirred until melted. Yummy!

Spaghetti Salad I

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2003
This is the best way to make pasta salad! The usual way seems so boring to my family now. It's such a verstile recipe and it's always a hit!

Restaurant-Style Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
Very versatile and standard recipe. Maybe a little too salty I usually leave it out. This dish never fails my husband and kids always eat it up! As a variation I sometimes add a cup of sour cream and top it with the french fried onions and serve with chicken or pork chops. Yummy!

Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
I thought this quiche overall was pretty good. I'd have to agree with some of the other reviews that suggest cutting out the salt and reducing the cream. I had a hard time deciding if it was done after baking an additional ten minutes due to the 2 cups of cream. Great taste though. With minimal changes it'll be perfect!

Baked Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2002
Great recipe! I added another box of stuffing and added about 2 cups of water to the 1/2 cup chicken broth because I didn't think there would be enough liquid to absorb into the stuffing. I went about a 1/2 cup too much but it still turned out fine. Great taste and pretty quick and easy too! Much better recipe than what is on the back of the StoveTop box. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
I would have to agree with the other reviewers that this recipe does taste like chili, but it's chili with some zip! I enjoyed this recipe but the rest of my family told me just to make my regular chili next time. I think it was the corn that threw them. Oh well, thanks anyway!

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2002
This recipe is five stars, after a little modification. First, I don't even add the salt and I use low sodium soy sauce. The first time I made it, it was so salty it made our lips pucker! But, after I made it with way less salt it was fabulous and the beef was so tender. I either serve with egg noodles or garlic mashed potatoes. Thanks, for a great, easy meal!

Melt In Your Mouth Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2002
Overall, a great recipe, the pork chops were very tender. However, it was a bit salty, and that was using the lite ingredients. I added a little more water than was called for to cut the saltiness down a bit. My husband and kids enjoyed it. I'll be making this again. Thanks!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2002
This chicken is fabulous! I was very generous with my seasonings. I added more paprika then the recipe called for and I added seasoned salt, parsley, and LOTS of minced garlic. My chicken was partially frozen when I put it in the crock pot so I cooked it on high for about three hours and then turned it to low. Turned out great!!! It was not too dry and the meat fell of the bone. Next time I'll try bone-in breasts. Huge hit with my family, thanks!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
Great recipe! I did change it a little bit. I used a round steak and coated it with flour and browned it before I put it in the crock pot. I also added a can of beef broth to the mix and used the whole brick of cream cheese. Turns out great every time!

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2002
This recipe tasted great! However, it was very ugly looking. My family had to be convinced to try it. I'll have to fix it up a little bit to try to make it look a little more appetizing, maybe it needs a little bit more biscuits on top if using a 9x13 dish. Tastes great though! Thanks!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
I did not care for this recipe at all. The taste was not what I expected and the beer did not help it any. My husband thought it was okay and the kids did not like it either. But, it was worth a try. Thanks anyway!

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2002
My family and I thought this was a great recipe. The only thing I changed was that I used fresh garlic and instead of using the milk at the end I used salsa. It turned out wonderfully! This is a recipe that I will use again for sure. Thanks!
