Shrimp Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
Fantastic! I was in a hurry to make something for dinner b4 I picked up my kids from play practice. This threw together in about 15 minutes. I added four drops of liquid smoke, minced garlic (about one tbls), old bay seasoning, onion powder, and chicken broth (to make it stretch a little). I sauteed the onion, garlic, celery, and celery leaves in evoo with one tbls of butter. everything else I threw in and whisked together. Should have doubled the recipe! Excellent.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
Everyone loved this recipe! I doubled the gravy and served it with rice. Next time I will try meatballs instead of ovals. I used crushed stove top chicken stuffing instead of bread crumbs to add a little flavor. It's a quick and easy keeper.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
I made this for my 13 yr olds murder mystery dinner party. It was a great hit. The kids loved assembling it in the morning. I put them in a plastic bag to marinate in the fridge all day and then broiled for 15 min and served. This is now a favorite. Thanks.

Rhubarb Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I have always been intimidated by jam and canning. This was so easy! I followed the instructions on this site for canning and every jar sealed. The jam tastes wonderful! Cut down the sugar by 1/2 cup and used wild strawberry jello. Will give as teacher gifts.

Romano Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
Great! I used fresh tarragon and basil. Panko bread crumbs make the coating very crunchy. Used presliced lunch ham, monterey and mozzerella cheeses and baked in oven for 35 min at 350.

This was great! I cut the amount of lemon in half like others suggested. Served over rice cooked in chicken stock. I used disposable broiler pans and the whole meal from start to cleaning up after dinner took 40 min.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
Made the changes that the other reviews suggested. The next day needed a little more substance with the leftovers so I added one more can of tomatoes and a tin of black beans to stretch out what we had left and simmered for 1/2 hour. Terrific!

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
I am not a chai lover but this is very good and compforting. I am making it for teacher gifts. I mix it with milk instead of water for a richer taste. I put all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and used a hand held blender to grind the mix. It came out very smooth.

I made this with bbq ribs last night and boy was it a hit. I used a mandolin to slice the onion. I used a cooling rack set over a cookie sheet to put the rings on after dipping. Easy clean up.

You won't find any better. I make them monster cookies by using an ice cream scoop to dish up the dough. I bake them at 350 for about 12/14 min. It makes about 36 cookies. My daughters 5th grade class loved them! Thanks bunches.
