Beef Stew II

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I rated this based on what I changed which wasn't too, too much. First, 4 cups water sounded blah so I went 1 1/2 cups beer (Keiths) and 2 cups broth. No cloves or bay leaves. I used onion powder as I had no onions. I doubled Worcestershire sauce because I usually do. The stew is a bit runny. However, the beer makes this taste incredible. I find stews blah but this has helped.

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
Great basic recipe. The better the jam the better these will turn out. These go up against a family recipe that hides the jam at the bottom of the muffin which is strict competition. I will need to add the recipe here.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
This was the first stew I've ever made and I've no complaints. I didn't have all the vegetables so I used potatoes, carrots, and threw peas in during the last hour. Heating it up at work, I had an ex-carnivore co-worker tell me the stew was setting off memories and how great it smelled.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Dots

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
These were the first cookies I ever baked and really the first thing I ever baked. These were simple and it makes a lot. I only modify it to add chocolate chips.

Rosenmunnar

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
These were super simple. Why they weren't as good as they should have been, I didn't factor this into my rating. The reason being was I used olive based margarine which is something I will never do again in any form of baking whatsoever. Even despite that, these were delicious!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
There could be a lot of factors as to why I don't jump on the wagon and support this. I felt it was just too sweet or something. I drained the rootbeer, after, and didn't keep it. I used Sweet Baby Rays. Perhaps that was just too much for me. I thought I enjoy the sweeter BBQ's but combined with the rootbeer, it may have been too much. Some wrote they used beer and maybe that combination would be better. Next time, I'll try beer and maybe a sauce that isn't so sweet. It smelled good!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
This was really the first pot roast I've made and the biggest cut of meat I've prepared beyond steaks, chicken breasts, etc. I've never done a roast so I tried this one. It was very good! The meat was tender and the gravy was pretty good. I'm going against what my mother had prepared so it's been hard to top it.

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2012
I only changed using black beans instead of 2 cans of red kidney (so 1 and 1). I used turkey instead of beef. I used a bit of red pepper flakes. I didn't use a green pepper or onions as I'm not a fan of onion. Based on that, everything else was followed and this was great! I make meals for myself and this scored 7-8 meals for me. This demands cheese but a cheese stick suffices.

Citrus Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
This wasn't bad. I left them in a few minutes longer. I also added a bit too much flour, just a bit, so I squeezed half a lemons juice into the batter. But, I like lemon a lot and I like it stronger. It's not bad. Maybe needs more sugar as a result of the added lemon.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I made this recipe for a mere dozen. I accidentally added baking powder instead of baking soda. I added the correct amount of baking soda but I'm actually very pleased to how they actually turned out, regardless. I'm just starting to get into baking but this went well. Outside of that mistake, which worked out, I added more chocolate chips (they are loaded). Next time it's my turn to bring in something for my co-workers, I'll be baking a nice big batch of these. Maybe I'll keep the baking powder in it next time, too.
