Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Didnt care for these cookies... they tasted oily and not flavorful. I will say they remained rather soft, but I think that is due to the high amount of shortening added. I tossed them out. Thanks.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
By far the best recipe I have made on this site so far, they turned out perfect. Moist, dense and flavorful. I doubled the recipe to make in a 9x13 pan, and one thing I added was when I melted the butter, I also melted one cube of bakers chocolate with it, to add some additional fudge flavor. Turned out amazing, this will be the only brownie recipe I ever use. Thank you so much for sharing it!!

Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
Followed the recipe exact, and found it to be on the dry side, and a little crumbly also. The taste was great, but the dryness took away from the final product. Unless there is an ingredient that could add additional moisture, I think I will try anonther recipe. Thanks for sharing yours!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
I actually thought I had done something wrong as the dough was so thick, but I rechecked my measurements, and it was correct. They tasted perfect, but I made two mistakes, for one, I used too many blue berries. I used fresh and just put in the entire container, which must have been two cups or so. Just too many. For two, I overfilled the muffin cups. I underestimated how much they would rise, and they turned into giant mushrooms. I will try again, with less blueberries, and with the cups filled to only half way, then I imagine they would be perfect. Thank you for sharing this great recipe!

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
This was my first attempt ever at a cobbler, and I have to say, it came out great. I did alter some per other reviewers suggestions. I cut the sugar in half for the filling and the dough. I used canned peaches, and they came out a little too soft, but there werent any good peaches available at the market. I used two 29 ounce cans, and one 14 ounce can. Alot of peaches. I strained them and then put the sugar cinnamon coating on after placing them in a bowl. By the time the dough was ready, I noticed quite a lot of liquid had accumulated from the peaches even after being strained, so I did not add any additional liquid to the top. This came out AMAZING!! This is the only cobbler recipe I would use from now on. I did use a 9x13 pan inplace of the 10x10. Perfect amount of moisture and the dough was absolutely perfect. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Old-Fashioned Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
Made this last night, and wow, it was really good. I doubled the recipe and still it was only enough for two average size bowls. There were a few lumps but I chalk that up to my inexperience. Very rich and flavorful. I let it chill in the fridge for a little over an hour, and it probably needed another hour to set completely firm, but was still great. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
Made this for dinner last night, and all I can say is WOW, absolutely amazing!!! I followed the recipe exact, except I used bacon grease in place of butter for the gravy, and I would have to agree, a little heavy on the sausage, which I will either omit or cut back on next time, but the flavor is outstanding and the biscuits were perfect!! This recipe is a keeper, thank you for sharing it!

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
This was my first attempt at making Chili... after reading through so many recipes here, I settled on this one. I have to say, I followed the recipe to a tee, and was somewhat dissappointed with the flavor, it seems to be missing something, and being a novice cook, I am not sure what it is. There seemed to be enough heat, but what flavor exactly is missing I am not sure. Was a little thinner than I had hoped also. It cooked in the slow cooker for 10 hours while I was at work, and when I got home, the house was filled with the awesome smell of chili cooking. If anyone knows what spice would make this taste more authentic, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for sharing this recipe, I have learned I really enjoy cooking recently and will continue to search for more good recipes.
