Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
This was so easy to make, but like others have noted make sure you cook the potatoes all the way through or you will not be able to make the dough.

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
This recipe was amazingly good even without the Chinese 5 spice (we didn't have). We breaded and deep fried the chicken, added brocolli to the sauce and let it simmer while the chicken was frying. We added the chicken while slowly thickening the sauce. No more Panda Express for us! Thank you for this recipe!

Potato Leek Soup III

When it was time to add the heavy cream I also added some chunks of leftover ham I had from Easter. It was fantastic! I'll be making this again!

Lemon Leek Roasted Cornish Hens

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
I'm only a beginner cook and this recipe left me uninspired. The flavors were not strong enough and next time I make Cornish Hens I'll pick another recipe.

The Best Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Are you a beginner cook like me? Well you CAN do this recipe! I did the entire recipe except I used canned gravy and it was fantastic! I didn't have a cast iron skillet & it was still great. I used the buttermilk substitute listed in the first review & couldn't tell the difference. I paired it up with these biscuits: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/cheddar-bay-biscuits/Detail.aspx and my husband & daughter raved at how much I've improved in cooking since finding allrecipes.com

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Easy to make biscuits! I added all the seasonings to the dough and only brushed them with butter at the end. I followed two other reviews that said add 1/4 teaspoon bay seasoning and to brush them with butter and put them back in the oven for a minute or two. Then I brushed them lightly again right before serving.

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2011
Oh my! This was sooo good! Like others suggested, I made a couple minor changes. I used a cup of water with Knorrs (chicken) bouillon and an onion cube (gives the flavor without the texture of onion). At the end I added some shredded cheddar cheese and it was amazing! I didn't even use any seasoning (because of the bouillon/onion cube) and it was outstanding. I will never make it differently!

Spicy Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
I'm still trying to get the sauce the way I like it, but that is not the recipe's fault. Yummy even as I'm learning!

Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
I can't believe it. I made crepes AND they were good! :P Like others have said, plan on the first couple being test runs, but by my third one I figured out batter/heat/time for my stove (about 1 - 1 1/2 mins each side, with my heat setting at 4). I added vanilla and cinnamon as the first review lists, but it wasn't nearly enough for me so next time I'll add more. I keep hearing to use a filling of nutella and bananas so next time I make them I'll be doing this. I am a beginner cook. If I can make these, anyone can! ^5 for this recipe. It challenged my comfort levels and the food came out a success!

Jamaican Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
The flavor was good, but overall I couldn't give this a five star as I just felt it was missing something. It was worth making and I may make it again. In the reviews I read it's not as good as true Jamaican Jerk and I have to agree.

Mango Papaya Salsa

Loved it! We use this for fish tacos, pork, and chicken! The only thing I add to the recipe is a bit of cilantro. Healthy way to add a little flavor to dishes without adding tons of calories!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2011
Excellent! I didn't change a thing! I did use an authentic Mexican tomato sauce (from Walmart, small carton for like 40 cents). Being married to a Mexican, I'm always trying to make him things along this line that he'll love, but until now my rice has always been 'meh'. Thank you for giving me the rice recipe I've been searching for! Now to figure out what I'm doing wrong with my refried beans! ;)
