My BF called it interesting. Sorry, I didn't like this one. I'll save my tahini for hummus.

Cream Cheese Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
One of my favorite pies of all time! Light and refreshing, not heavy at all, even with the cream cheese. I use a 16oz bag of frozen (Wymans---they are by FAR the best tasting) blueberries. Make sure to bake the shell and prepare the berry sauce first so they have time to cool. This is perfect for warmer weather and great for the fourth of july:) Thank you so much.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
Love this. I use milk instead of water, add a half teaspoon baking soda to the flour mixture (which I mix in the food processor) and double the lemon juice. A few extra peaches don't hurt, especially if they are small. It also takes me less than 30 minutes in the oven. Wonderful!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
These are great! I get more than 8, though. If I try to put the batter into just 8 muffin cups it overflows and sticks to the pan.

Golden Potato Soup

This is really good. Hot sausage (the kind in a tube) can be used instead of ham for a different twist.

Very good. I use a 6oz box of Uncle Bens wild rice. I also add chopped garlic, thyme, and a bit more chicken. Thanks.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
This is a great soup. I prefer to use chicken stock instead of water to pump up the flavor. When I served this to my daughter recently she thought it was too thick (I had simmered it quite a long time). I added heavy cream and she totally loved it. I did too. could hardly stay away from it even though I was aware of the calories!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2012
REALLY LOVE this soup! It truly is delicious. I like to add garlic to the roux. And sometimes add a can of creamed corn at the end (a perfect addition to any chowder type soup-though it makes it a bit sweet). This is an excellent recipe that can be altered to your own taste in so many ways. That's part of what makes this such a great recipe, although it is very good as written. I never had a problem with this being thin. I just cook the roux and the combined soup long enough to thicken. Thank you for a perfect winter comfort soup!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
One of the better recipes on this site. This recipe turned me into a cornbread lover. I never liked it before, it was always too dry. The buttermilk is the key. I almost always prefer baked goods that use buttermilk. It adds such great moisture yet is lower fat than other options. It's great! Definately a northern style cornbread, so if you prefer a more savory version this is not for you.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
The best ever. Very creamy and smooth. People ask me what the secret is to its creamy texture all the time. It is always a hit. Love how the cream cheese adds an extra dimension of flavor and cuts down on the sugery-ness that can overwhelm the bananas and other ingredients. One of the best recipes on this site, IMO. Thank you so much.

Super Easy Stir-Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
This was very good. I didn't measure anything, just threw the ingredients together until I thought it tasted good. I used butter, but oil would be good too. Used Japanese cooking wine because that's what I had. I liked the sweetness that it gave the cabbage, very good mixed with the saltiness of the soy sauce. I also added some rice vinegar because I love vinegar with cabbage. Oh, and extra garlic. I agree with the reviewer who compared this to an eggrole filling. Thanks!

Lemon Lush Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
This pie was pretty good for how easy it is. The texture was SUPER creamy, which I appreciated. I took the advice of doubling the lemon and reducing the milk. I don't think it will make it into my rotation, though. The sour cream flavor stood out to me quite a bit, and even though I like sour cream I didn't care for such a strong flavor of it in this pie.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
These are great little cookies. Everyone who has tried them (and it's been a LOT of people) loves them. I often don't use the glaze. I like them both ways. Also, you can try some poppy seeds in the dough. Very pretty!
