About this Cook
I am a stay at home Grandma. I am perfecting my recipes in hopes of opening a cafe when I get back to Florida.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that pleases people.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The thing I used to love was the way the windows would fog up in the winter time when my Mom was cooking huge dinners for hollidays. My hope is to get a big enough home to invite my family and friends over to renew those traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I have THE best sheppards pie recipe. I changed the spelling because Sheppard is my mothers maiden name, and since it all started with her I must pay respects.
My cooking tragedies
The very first meatloaf I burned to a crisp. It was the hubby's fault as he had other things in mind. That man ate that whole meatloaf burned did not matter to him. That was 24yrs ago this month. He used to have me make them freeze them and then overnight express them in whatever city he was in at the time.

Fried Empanadas
I must say I really loved the dough. It is perfect although frying it was a pain. Next time I plan to bake. The filling however I totally changed that since I did not have all the ingredients. I think you put anything to your taste and come out a "winner"

Papas Rellenas (Fried Stuffed Potatoes)
I followed the directions completely. Needed more salt in both the potato mixture as well as the meat. Also to get the crumbly soft meat thats in the ones I'm used to I will cook the meet like I do for coney sauce in water then add the onion pepper mixture. These were very labor intensive but well worth it. YEA Dont have to order them online or make a trip to Florida! Thanks
