Tres Leches (Milk Cake)

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2007
Made this for my boyfriend who is a native of Costa Rica. He loved it, I was hesitant to try it but ended up enjoying it a lot. I did bake it in a smaller pan as I did not have one large enough, but I loved the thick slices. I also added only 1/3 cup of flour to the whipping cream for the topping. We let it cool completely, slowly added the milk, covered it in the fridge overnight and added the whipped topping in the morning. We had two pieces for breakfast. Easy to make and very tasty! Definitely try this recipe if you enjoy tres leches.

Hershey's ® 'Perfectly Chocolate' Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
Used strong coffee instead of water as suggested by many. Cake was DELICIOUS and super moist. The aroma in the house while it was baking was heavenly. I used frosting from a can instead of the frosting listed here. Couldn't be happier with the ease of making and the end taste!

Vegetable and Feta Latkes

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
Instead of zucchini I used a ton of spinach! I sprayed pam into a pan, got a nice crust on each side, and then baked at 375 for about 9 minutes (I made big latkes) They were delicious! Try the spinach, mmmm.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

I used 3 cups of self-rising flour only, and added rosemary and Italian seasoning. This bread was so easy to make, smelled delicious baking, and tasted wonderful! This will become a regular in our house! :-)

Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I just made this sauce for Thanksgiving on Thursday and not only was it incredibly simple, it smells delicious! I've used it before and always had fantastic results. I did quarter the recipe (my boyfriend and I are having a small Thanksgiving) and used a smaller amount of ground cinnamon. The house still smells wonderful and it's hard not to keep going to the fridge to taste the sauce early!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
Didn't feel good today but still needed to get dinner on the table. I was looking for something simple and quick. This certainly fit the bill. Added a packet of garlic and herb soup mix instead of the garlic salt, and a few tsps of italian seasoning. The chicken stayed very moist, tasted good and was very, very simple to prepare. It was also easy on my stomach which wasn't feeling too hot. Two thumbs up! Served with a bake potato which cooked at the same temp, only started it 20 mins earlier, and broccoli.

Cheese and Broccoli Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2005
Delicious and easily adaptable to suit your personal taste. I use chicken broth rather than water with bouillon and also add diced carrots, onions, garlic and thyme. Serve with rolls or half a sandwich or salad and you've got a delicious lunch or light dinner! Especially wonderful on a rainy, cold or "sick" day.

Clam Chowder III

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2005
An excellent base recipe that can be adjusted to suit your personal taste. I sauted the onions and garlic and added them carmelized rather than blending them together. I added shredded carrots, thyme, rosemary and an extra can of clams and juice! It was perfect for a rainy, yucky day like today. Very hearty and everyone I served it to came back for seconds! Will definately make again. :-)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
This has become my staple cookie recipe!! Everyone absolutely goes crazy over for them when I bring them to work, it's even how I won over my current boyfriend!! They're great to play around with, try different flavors of pudding and different mix ins---chunks, m+m's, nuts, peanut butter chips---they always turn out. Even when I accidentally burned them once they were still delicious and soft!! You can't go wrong with this recipe, oh and always bring a copy or two of it when you bring them out, someone will ask for it!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2005
Delicious and homey. My roommates and boyfriend loved it. I did add a few bayleaves and a bit more spice and used half of a regular yellow onion. It smells heavenly when cooking and reheats for a great lunch the next day. (I also didn't use celery only because I dislike it) A wonderful base for a good old-fashioned stew that you can tweak to your own liking!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2001
Wow!!! I made this on a whim, I had all the ingrediants and I could not believe how quick it took to put together and that I didn't have to pre-cook it. To top it off it is absolutely phenominal, much better than the stuff I usually buy. This will definately be a repeat! Thank you!!! *omitted the anchovy paste, didn't have it*
