{name} 2005 Sequel | Blend | 96% Syrah 4% Cab Sauv
{purchased from} Salish Lodge, Dining Room
{tasting notes} This is a deep, dark Syrah loaded with aromatic dark chocolate and black cherries. Lush and concentrated with a perfect balance of richness and acidity that brings the wine to life.

{she said} I’ve become a huge fan of syrah and anything with syrah in it lately. This was a perfect bottle of wine to compliment our fantastic dinner at Salish Lodge. If we decide to go back to visit, I’m hoping they have this on hand for round two. This is not your lounge around the house and drink wine, be sure you’re doing something special to open this bottle. Be ready to enjoy your meal, your wine, and the guest(s) at your table!
{her rating} 5: emergency! It’s bit on the higher side for wine I’d usually purchase, but you have to do it – even if it’s just one time.

{he said} As long as I've been drinking wine, it's been red – more specifically, Syrah and Shiraz. This bottle of wine was arguably the best bottle of wine I've ever had...it was like drinking silk! What I liked most about our wine and dinner pairing is that one didn't out-perform the other. What she doesn't know (but does now) is that we WILL be going back – how could we not?!!

I've just discovered those blends here at our liquor store...god, I wish Longview had a wine shop...and they are amazing! And, really, if you think about it, with an amazing dining experience like that, how could it cost too much? Great blog, Jen!! Can't wait for the next review!!

I can't believe they don't have a wine shop! Well, when we do end up meeting (which will be soon hopefully!) you can stock up here in Seattle :)
