Opening Day for the Mariners has been an event I’ve refused to miss for the last few years. The countdown usually begins about two months ahead of time. Once Opening Day is here – spring is here (or usually right around the corner). Spring is equal to hanging out on the patio, bbq’g, beer festivals, fun sun dresses, water taxi’s to Alki and most importantly – outside seating for Happy Hour! How do younot look forward to Opening Day!
Our usual group of friends got together to grab our $12 tickets, head down to Pyramid Beer Garden and over to Safeco to find the perfect spot in the centerfield beer garden. I’m not a huge fan of the game itself but the atmosphere is what I love about going to a baseball game. The people, the sun, the baseball stadium food, the beers, the laughs, 7th inning stretch, seeing if the Oh Boy O’Berto car will win (again) in the between game races – you rarely see someone having a horrible time at the game.
If you have yet to go to Safeco (or your local baseball stadium) to check out a game – stop reading this and go buy a ticket NOW! Be sure to bring some cash for those peanuts, hot dogs, beers, and that foam finger you’ve always wanted to wave around!
{Don’t forget} When buying your ticket, be sure to get the cheap seats – no seat is a bad seat! * Walk around the stadium, check out the vendors! * Always cheer for the red car and always pick hat number 1 * HAVE FUN!
