This year, NYE plans were made in San Fran with my friend, Kaycee. She recently moved there in October and there was a much needed trip to go visit her new home. Even though most of the 2 days I spent there was consuming food and some sort of festive drink, we did a bit of sightseeing and took an interesting adventure on the bus.

Land in SF, 9am Wednesday morning
{note} getting in this early was AWESOME, we had the whole day to do stuff
The hills are no joke there-the sidewalks turn into stairs for the really steep hills.

Dinner and drinks at Paxti’s on Fillmore
{note} always order a pitcher of beer when available, this goes for any venue you plan on having a beer or two at. The waitress won’t have to keep coming back and you’ll have a full pint until she makes the rounds again.

Drinks at Tipsy Pig on Chestnut
{drink to order} you must, must, must order the Strawberry fields! From what I saw, muddled strawberries and limes (or lemons), vodka, and simple syrup. There might have been more but Kaycee and I were on the other end of a conversation about our shampoo from a guy in our way at the bar.

Tourist time, Thursday
Kaycee refused to take me to anywhere that was a tourist attraction because of the amount of tourists there during the holidays. We did make it to the beach to look at the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Palace of Fine Arts.
{next time to do} we saw these go-cart looking cars EVERYWHERE. Next trip, we’re renting the GoCar to do some driving and learn a little San Fran history.
My one tourist photo...you have to do at least one!

This is what the International District should look like. I love the International District in Seattle, lots of great restaurants and dive bars BUT the one in SF is AMAZING. We only did a bus ride because we were on a mission to get some downtown shopping in (and to find a pretzel to chow down on). There are all kinds of shops and small eateries that I will be frequenting on the next trip!

Ringing in 2010, Thursday night
We were at Mauna Loa Lounge when the countdown took place. Total dive bar but perfect for the two of us that would rather hang at a dive bar with friends and ring in the new year with a good bartender and a stiff drink than anything else.
{what to remember next time} take cash•wear flip flops•bring camera•bring quarters to play pop-a-shot

I plan on going back soon, please let me know of anything that I must do next time around!

It seems you had a great time! Last time I was in SF was almost 8 years ago, so much fun and great restaurants!

I loved the restaurants! There were too many chains, so that was a plus. I love to try new things/place/restaurants when I travel-why go to Red Robin when you can just do that at home?!
