Merry Martini Mayhem-the planning begins!

This is the third year for the Martini event and I’m just as excited as the past years! This started out as an adventure for a bunch of us to go to each other’s places and try a new martini. That didn’t really work out as getting a bunch of girls to leave one apartment to go to another when there’s still martini’s left is kind of hard. So it’s morphed into an event I hold at my place, everyone brings a different martini and we do a whole girls night!

This year we’re switching things up a bit (as much as I love having 2 bags of liquor left over, it takes a while to finish it all)…I’ll be providing the vodka and gin, ladies will bring an app & the etc to build their martini. We’re starting later in hopes of actually making it to the bars this year and the apps are a new addition.

{to do list}
date set - done
invites have been sent out – done
martini glasses purchased and designed
pick up lots of vodka and gin
make appetizers
find a new outfit (most importantly, shoes)
make everyone’s gift bags
GET EXCITED! – done and done

Here are some pics from last year’s hot but very fun mess of a night…

this is what we started with...all the ingredients for a fun night!

Duke was the star of the night

Kiley, myself, Jessica, and Kaycee made it to the bars, barely...

Any suggestions on the martini I should make this year?

I'd make a White Christmas martini: 1 ounce amaretto, 1 ounce heavy cream, 1 ounce vodka, and serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. Or, a candy cane martini, 1 and a half ounces of vodka, 1 tsp peppermint schnapps. Then put one of those little candy canes on for garnish or do a red or green sugared rim or a crushed candy cane rim. Delish!

You must have a dirty martini

Lemon Drop Martini: 1 ounce grey goose, lemon juice, sour mix in a martini shaker with a teaspoon of super-fine sugar...shake with ice until icy on the outside. Rub a lemon wedge around the martini glass and rim with sugar...super yummy!

Jen - what a great idea having a martini night. Will have to wait until after the holidays. Jenny - Can't wait to try your White Christmas and candy cane martinis. Enjoy yourselves!! P.S. Love the pink Christmas tree!

Sounds like fun! If I am drinking martinis, I can only do very dry Sapphire gin with an olive. The sweet ones make me too full, but they do sound good!

Ooh....we are on to a martini we had a couple weeks ago at the Grand Floridian hotel at Disney--a Berries n Cream martini. Three Olives Blueberry Acai vodka, Frangelico, Chambord and half & half. A great dessert!
