Grilled Jalapeno Tuna Steaks

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2013
Wow! Doubled the lime and an extra little pour of olive oil, then reduced it slightly with a splash of white wine and cilantro. Also because I would rather not fire up the grill in a snow storm I seared it for 3 minutes on each side in the cast iron skillet like some other reviewers suggested, removed the blackenned fish and and then did the sauce super quick. My husband loved it and so did I.

Spinach and Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2012
Very good. I made a triple batch, definately added more spice and a few modifications from other reviewers; sundried tomatoes, cucumber, diced orange bell pepper. Also, added sugar and minced garlic to the vinegarette. My husband raved about it. I can't wait to serve it tomorrow.

Rich and Creamy Beef Stroganoff

Thanks SanFran! I didn't change a thing, it was super. I have trouble with roux sometimes, so the 4 minutes was perfect. My house smelled like heaven.

Creamy Asiago and Goat Cheese Polenta

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
Wow! This is a terrific basic creamy polenta recipe. I added chopped sundried tomatoes, asiago and goat cheeses, a few tablespoons of honey, basil and a few red pepper flakes. Introduced "something new" to the family and they all had seconds. I used it as a base on the plate and placed stuffed flank steak rolls on the top

Happy I found this recipe. It was HUGE and hardly any was left. Yummy. And I'm not always a fan of salads.

Karyn's Cream of Crab Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
THANK YOU!! I am a fourth generation Marylander, who's grandfather was a waterman on the Chesapeake Bay. I am hard to please when it comes to this type of food. MY DINNER GUESTS WERE BLOWN AWAY BY HOW DELISH THIS SOUP WAS. And I didn't change a thing. It was served with individual warm crusty french rolls, and a large salad with my family's home made ceasar/green godess type of dressing and WOW!. This is my all time top of the list recipe from Allrecipes very very easy.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
I had never made ribs before. I followed the recipe, and happy I picked up on removing the underside membrane with a paper towel. Very easy. They were just as good as Adams Rib Restaurant. I can't wait for next summer to make it again. I prepared them at home, then finished them on a grill for a cookout with family and they all made pigs of themselves...as usual.. :)

Apple Turnovers

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
My 17 year old daughter and I made these together and they were easy, smelled wonderful and were very yummy. I did roll out the pastry dough a little so I could fit more apple filling into each one. Even a quarter of a cup was too much to get it to seal. We applied an egg wash to the top and could not have been easier.

Albondigas Soup I

Reviewed: May 18, 2010
My family, who I can never please everyone at one time with dinner, loved this soup. I sped it along by using store bought turkey meatballs, cutting the calories. I added two tablespoons of olive oil to add a healthy fat instead of boiling the hamburger and pork meatballs. Totally ready in 45 minutes. I drained the tomatoes so it was still brothy and not tomatoe based. Still could have used less tomatoes. Next time I will use just one can. Great receipe. I can't wait to have it again tomorrow for lunch.

Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
This is a wonderful recipe. I also used skim milk, and had no fresh onions so I used a tablespoon of onion flakes. It was delish. My husband is just so/so with asparagus and he loved it. It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic.

BUSH'S® Black Bean and Mango Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
This dish was everything I wanted it to be. I served it with mexican food as a fresh alternative to refried beans and plated it on top of a small amount of spring greens. I didn't have fresh cilantro, fresh jalapeno or spring onions, and used cilantro from my spice cabinet, jarred jalapeno and a quarter of a purple onion and it was just fine. It was not popular with my teenagers, but my husband and I loved it. I can't wait to serve it to company with grilled fish.

Allana's Excellent Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
I thougth it was great. I substituted evaporated skim to save on calories, ran short on potatoes and used a cup of instant spuds, and it was super. I topped it with a sprinkle of crumbled bacon, a dollop of fat free sour cream and fresh sprig of parsley. Served with awesome ceasar salad, it was a family pleaser.

Peppered Beef Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
The beef was spectacular and had a unique zest without going overboard. I seved it with simple horseradish/sourcream sauce, twice baked potatoes, ceasar salad and onion cassarole. I will make this treat again and again for holiday dinners. I gook it out of the over when internal temp was 130 and let other dishes warm while it continued to cook under a loose foil tent. It was perfectly rare in the middle and med rare to medium on the ends.

Twice-Baked New Potatoes

I prepared this dish the day before and baked it just before dinner. It wasn't a big hit and was unfortunately alot of trouble to fix. Will go back to regular twice baked potatoes.

Onion Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I made this for Christmas dinner after reading all of the great reviews. I had 25 dinner guests and served it with beef tenderloin, ceasar salad and twice baked potatoes. It could have been creamier, and wasn't a big hit. I will try it again for a smaller dinner and see if it turns out better.

Campbell's Kitchen Easy Chicken Pot Pie

Great for using leftovers. I had no eggs, but did have a box of pie crust mix in the pantry. and made a top crust only pot pie and added some cooked onions left over from an onion casserole, fresh cracked pepper and a dash of garlic powder. My there was nothing left, two of us had seconds. I love this website:)
