Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

I have used this recipe multiple times now in the last few years. It is always a huge hit with the family! I make it as shown, word for word. I discount ALL reviewers that change the recipe, and then give a less than 5-start review. Bad business, in my opinion. The recipe is perfect as-is! Don't change a thing, at the very least during your first attempt. If I'm in a hurry, I'll purchase prepared crusts, but it's easy to cut the top crust into lattice, by cutting into 1-1.5" wide strips. I love how pouring the sauce mixture over the lattice makes it appear brown, and crisp up in the oven. I have read reviews of people using fewer apples; I actually used nine. I just cut enough up the mount high in the pie pan. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Tomato Sauce

Tried this sauce with fresh tomatoes from my garden. It tasted fantastic! I added real garlic, like most others who rated. I thought mine turned out a little watery, with liquid separating after putting the sauce on top of pasta, but I think that was my fault. I let the simmering get away from me for a few minutes, and it turned into a rapid boil, which I think caused the tomatoes to separate into solid/liquid. It still tasted terrific.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Made this as specified multiple times. It's excellent! Very quick to make and kids love it. Make it with a side of garlic bread, and it's great for a quick weeknight meal.

Butter Frosting

Excellent recipe! This works great in an icing bag. I use the recipe as is to do the outlines, and add a couple teaspoons more milk to fill in the centers.
