Nice variant of shortbread. Add more walnuts, measure 2 cups unchopped.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
Typical homemade brownie, delicious. Somewhat on the soft and fluffy end rather than being fudge-like. Added a bit of chocolate chips, extra delicious. Must make again.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2015
Followed every instructions, except the amount of pecans. Tastes good, not so sweet or candy like. However, not so good visually. Beating the egg to foam, the pie puffed up significantly and formed hard baked outer shell. Texture of the hardened outer shell is nice, but does not look good.

Lemon Mint Iced Tea

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
Just before making this, realized that this recipe calls for double the amount of tea bags in half the water compared to other recipes. I'm guessing this was considering the ice watering down the tea. (Maybe ice should be on the ingredients list) Anyways, I made this with 2 quart (8 cup) water and chilled it so that ice won't be necessary. Adding mint tea made it extra refreshing (plus I like mint). Giving 5 stars!

Tastes great, and with a little coat of diluted syrup on the top, it has great presentation.

Lemon Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I'll give 5 stars, although I think 4.5 would be more accurate. I only made these once so far, and all the muffins came out ok. I tried to disturb the flour as little as possible just like other review suggested, and the results were spongy and almost rubbery. The batter was quite strange, it was very stiff. Yogurt, after coming to contact with the acidic lemon juice, started to form lumps. I baked mine (2inch muffin) at 375 F for 18min. Nice golden brown and soft, fluffy texture. I omitted lemon zest and the frosting, and the muffins taste just sweet, without any lemon flavor. One more thing, my muffins didn't really rise much, and I don't know why. Perhaps, next time, I'll put in more baking soda or try mixing the ingredients differently. Overall, a very nice muffin, I will make these again

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
Great basic sloppy joes recipe! I didn't follow the recipe exactly [didn't bother measuring the weight of the beef used] I replaced some of the ketchup with barbecue sauce, plus added some Worcestershire sauce. I'm really glade that I found this recipe :D

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
This is it!!! this is IT!!!! I'm eating a piece right now and this is it!!! No more searching for another recipe!!! My only concern is that it looks and tastes like a commercial cake-mix cake, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad. All I know is that this cake is good! This is super easy, very quick, and very good! I'm a novice to cooking and baking and if I can do it, anyone can!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly, and the cookies came out great :D Nice flavor from the spices, plus it's soft as promised. very happy with the result (= good cookies) I've put in a bit more ginger though, I think I'll put in a bit more next time. Despite another comment I read before baking, I don't think these cookies are that sweet. I will bake this again for sure :) p.s. I think next time I'll try substituting water with Orange juice, and put some more ginger in as I mentioned.

Best Moist Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Just made my first "Best Moist Chocolate Cake", and I changed the recipe based on the other reviews. 1 cup oil instead of margarine, a bit more milk, used baking powder and extra cocoa powder, (in my case 2 tablespoon extra). I did not add more sugar since looking at 1 3/4 cups of sugar kinda scared me a bit. As expected the cake is only sweet enough not to be completely bland. Overall the cake came out very moist and soft. I held one of made in a 8X1.5in pan and it was heavy and rather dense feeling. The bread is crisp on the outside but moist inside, well.. almost a bit too moist. I must say I am happy with the results. I'm giving 4/5 stars only to reserve 5/5 rating for the bakery level cakes.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
Easy recipe and it yields great cookies! I don't consider myself a big fan of peanut butter, but this cookies was great; chewy, delicious, just sweet enough (or slightly less), and looks great as well. I give this recipe 5 stars

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
Ready in 10min, without compromising taste and texture. I did have a minor problem with controlling the amount of cornstarch, but that's probably because I used 'generous' amount of 3 tablespoons. With slightly less starch it worked great. Certainly a 5 star recipe.
