About this Cook
I have been retired for 2 years. I had a small restaurant, but, my preferences are for cooking for myself. I am single and live in the woods of Wisconsin.
My favorite things to cook
My all-time favorite thing to cook is omelets. I served a wide variety in my restaurant. Next is baking cookies and cakes
My favorite family cooking traditions
My cooking triumphs
developing my poached scrambled eggs. They make a great light, low calorie lunch, when served with tomato, lettuce and cottage cheese.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to substitute canned apples, for fresh, in a cake. It turned out more like an apple brownie, than a cake.

Red Currant and Peach Applesauce
I used less sugar, and instead of using a blender, I used an old fashioned potato masher. It gives me a chunkier finished product.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken
I tried this tonight, and it was very good. It was a little bland, so the next time I'm going to try pepper jack cheese and also add some fresh diced mushrooms
