Really Easy Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Easy and delicious. I sauteed an onion and the celery with a little garlic in olive oil first - then added the staple ingredients. Served with crusty warm bread - wonderful recipe!

Southwestern Bean and Rice Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Fantastic! I too swapped black beans for the red - added a can of corn for color- and my gang likes more prominent taste so upped the garlic, cilantro, cumin, and lime juice. A big hit , will certainly make again!

Mom's Little Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I got the courage to go with this recipe with the unusual ingredients of cinnamon and cloves.... glad I did. This is slightly different from your typical BBQ sauce type dish - and certainly not Italian. Rather a tangy/sweet flavor. Since this was an appetizer for a pot luck party - wasn't looking for a meal - rather tidbits with a different flavor. It was a hit........

Ron's Bread Machine White

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
How could a recipe so simple be this good? If you like a crispy crunchy crust that is not too thick with a light and fluffy white inside..you will love this recipe! Entire house fought over slices. I substituted olive oil for veggie oil - otherwise followed recipe to a T. Very very good!!!

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I increased the honey as per suggestion from other viewers - was a big hit in my house, many ate this bread like cake or desert. My husband a diabetic could detect the sweetness, but everyone else just thought it was a good hearty bread with great texture.

Chicken Scampi II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
WHOA was this good!!!! I threw in a bag of frozen pepper stir fry (red/yellow/green peppers) and upped the garlic for my garlic loving family. Cook Linguine and threw that in the pot in the end to make a great sauce - and one dish meal. It was a huge hit!!! Thanks for this recipe CYNDEE - it is super easy and super tasting. Quality too........

Followed this recipe exactly - came out soft and fluffy inside with a slight crust. My husband took a bite and said "now that's good bread" - I was thrilled with this and plan on using for market sandwhich's next - excellent warm with butter - yum yum!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I was looking for an Aunt Annie's copy cat type recipe and this one caught my eye. Follow directions exactly but used 4 1/2 cups of flour instead of 5 as some reviewers suggested. If you want the pretzels to be large like Aunt Annie's - cut dough into 6 equal portions to make ropes. With 12 divisions the pretzels were about 6" pretzels. Family raved about them. Going to try freezing and see how they thaw/microwave for quick snacks. thanks for the recipe - Yum....

Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I doubled the raisins and still think it could use more. I also doubled the cinnamon on the 2nd batch - much better but will try adding even a tad more next time to make it more of a cinnamin raisin bread. Good recipe and the texture on this is very good. Use the bread flour!

Pumpkin Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
When I told the family what was for dinner - you should have seen the skeptical looks..... then they ate, and they ate, and they ate. I agree with comment that is also very good reheated the next day. For my crowd I substituted cut up smoked sausage in lieu of ham because that is what I had, and the smokey added flavor was fabulous. I highly recommend this one..... very hearty soup.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I love ginger snaps - but hate how they are so hard to bite through...so tried this recipe with no changes to see if it could solve the problem. With NO changes it is perfect. Slight crunch to the bottom of the cookie but the rest is soft and easy to bite through with enough ginger to have a 'snap' without a burn. No changes recommended. These cookies are flat so if you are looking for a cakier style cookie you will need to modify.
