Me and my sweetie
About this Cook
I was a farm wife for 30 years, so I'm no stranger to the kitchen. I love to cook and I love to watch people enjoy my cooking.
My favorite things to cook
I love hearty home cooking with beef, pork and chicken. I have a few gourmet dishes and I like to fix Italian and Mexican food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On the farm, our big meal was at noon and it was quite an event. Evening meals were usually smaller and lighter.
My cooking triumphs
The best cooking triumph is being told how much someone enjoyed a meal you fixed them years before.
My cooking tragedies
Can't think of anything in particular although, of course, there were some failures. Thankfully, the successes far outnumber the flops.

Easy Pineapple Upside Down Cake
Hi all, I am the submitter of this recipe. I have found that increasing the butter to 1/2 cup and the brown sugar to 3/4 cup makes this cake even better. I often mix a TBSP of dark rum and a TBSP of the drained pineapple juice to the sauce for added flavor. A can of crushed pineapple works well for this recipe also. Kaye

Chicken Calvados
Yep, my bad. Normandy is indeed in France. Sorry about that. I must have been geographically challenged the day I posted this recipe. AR didn't catch the mistake either. Thanks for the correction. Kaye

Brownie Frosting
I have used this recipe for years, it's foolproof and delicious. An added plus, it's quick and easy! This is the perfect frosting for Hershey's chocolate syrup brownies.
