All's aflame in my kitchen!

Halloween

Tomorrow is Halloween, this is my most favorite non-holiday.  This year is a bit sad for me though. My kids are all teenagers and in Jr High and High school. So they no longer get excited about carving pumpkins, dressing up (unless its overtly sexy) or trick-or-treating.  I don't even get to make spooky things for the kids classes anymore! .  That being said, I shall still make a spooky dinner before we head out to my Dads to hand out candy.  My drinks shall bubble, I shall toil and the critters will flee in terror!!

Have a great Halloween!

I know what you mean Tina! My daughter is 16 now and not into it anymore. We carved pumpkins again this year, but it feels like this may be the last for us as a family. I live in a neighborhood that has no kids trick or treating. I decorated outside this year a little, but ended up having to take it all down because of the storm. I'm glad you have an outlet by going to your dads. Have fun!

About Me
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook and bake. I think my most favorite thing to bake is bread. All kinds. This is usually a winter event, summers here get to be 110* and I can usually raise my bread outside. However there is nothing like raising bread by the fireplace.
My cooking tragedies
I was trying to make this Thai dish one night, I started out fine, (at this time I was living in a small apartment with a 2 burner stove), As i kept adding the ingredients (was meant to serve 4 so it said) I had to keep moving everything into bigger and bigger pots. Soon I had this bubbling mess of peanut-butter and chicken spilling over the sides of my biggest pot running down the stove onto the floor. My little apt began to smell like burning peanut butter and garlic. I eventually gave up as I ran out of kitchen and pots in which to cook this gooey peanut buttery mess. It tasted awful and I and my apt smelled for days.
