Bottom Round Roast with Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2010
Came out great. Per some other reviews: Seared the meat before putting in pot. Only had 1 large onion on hand which worked fine. Added a couple cloves of garlic and sprinkled a tad of garlic powder in addition to salt & pepper. Also added about 1/2 cup beef broth to pot with the vinegar. My 5.44 lb roast was done to perfection in 3 hours. I admit to peeking 2 times. For gravy I blended the onions until smooth and used 2tbsp flour (for thicker) and 1/2 broth 1/2 water for liquid (more flavor). It was very tasty....next time I may try with red wine like others have suggested. Served with new potatoes and it was a great meal. My kids ate up the meat no complaints.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
Just what I was looking for. I love the cream of chicken and wild rice soup at Panera and this does the trick with some simple modifications. Saute carrots, onion, celery and garlic in butter or olive oil first then add liquids and boil per the recipe. Also as another reviewer suggested you can use 6tbsp butter and 1/2 cup flour with 2 cups skim milk and the soup is perfect. Yummy, thanks for posting.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
Very simple and tasty cookies. The cookie has a nice flavor..not too sweet. The cookie has a soft bite to it with a more crisp outside. Only bake for the 12 minutes. Cookies will be softer if you take off pan right away to cool on wire rack. I was looking for an easy and tasty cookie to bring to my daughters school party and didn't want to deal with cutouts. These are perfect! Perfect with butter icing recipe on this site.

Balsamic Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
Yummy! Slice plum tomatoes in half the long way and use a spoon to scoop out the middle, then dice your tomatoes. Keeps it from being too soupy. I also usually top with Parmesan rather than mix in. If you're making ahead of time it'd be better to mix the Parm in at the last minute so it doesn't get soft & squishy and muddle up the look of the mix.

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Results in light and crispy cookie. Not for cutouts. Followed another reviewers advice and used 2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp lemon extract. Kid's like these better than sugar cookie cutouts. We've coated in cinnamon & sugar and got rave reviews. That version is especially tasty with coffee.

Parmesan Chicken I

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Good comfort food. My picky young ones like it because the chicken is so tender. Omitted rice per other reviews and serve it with egg noodles. Thanks for posting.
